Sydney Subbies 2025

Pfitzy

Knox take it 29-24 and get ahead on the table by a single point!

From the scoresheet in Fuse it looks like Hornsby got out to 21-zip before Knox came back with 4 tries and a conversion to make it 22-21.

Hornsby went for the penalty goal but Knox scored a 5th try to seal it. Three yellow cards to Hornsby can't have helped.

Knox get to face off against Hills on Saturday. eesh...

Highly unlikely they will pick up any other points at Colleagues, Lindfield more chance of bonus points in 1sts with 4 tries.
Colleagues Colts can effectively send Newport back to Div 2.

A win in colts won’t be enough to save Newport to jump Lindfield. They’ll have to be hoping to pick up some other wins or a bonus point or two.
Newport have been on the road since 12th of July with two home games shipped to Boronia and the furthest away point in metro Sydney from Newport, Malabar.

it’s going to be tough going to rally the troops for yet another 1.5hr away game. Let’s see how we go.

Newport colts are good, having claimed the Minor Premiership already. They will be tough. The Breakers women are already in the Grand final and await their opponent from tomorrows St Pats vs UNSW pre lim.

Div 3 Semi Final Predictions

1st Grade:
Beecroft v Knox: Knox's strength is their forwards Beecroft's is their backs, the contrasts makes for an interesting clash. The Beecroft pack however is ultimately still serviceable and the Beecroft loose forwards are particularly strong at linking with their quick backs which should see them put on enough points to beat Knox by 12.

Hills v Hornsby: Hornsby have rapidly improved throughout the year led by their 10s boot behind a good pack with a dominant set piece. Similar to the above game Hills will have an advantage in the backs and will be supported by strong jackalers which should counter the strong set piece of Hills. Hills by 10.

2nd Grade
Hills
v Knox: Full credit to Knox for playing yesterday to qualify, unfortunately they are coming up against an undefeated Hills who will mkae easy work of them. Hills by 20.
Blacktown v LCOI: If Blacktown have most of the players qualified (alot of them played 2 games each week), I think there size with reserves will be too much for LCOI who will need to combat a big physical team if they want to win. Blacktown by 5.

Colts:
Knox
v Beecroft: Knox have connivingly beat Beecroft three times this year who only just snuck into the finals. Knox by 21.
LCOI v BOBS: At their best Barker can win this, but I think Iggies will be to strong. Iggies by 9.

Tipping the higher ranked team to win every game, so I suspect ill be wrong at least once because finals footy always does result in an upset or 2.
