My bad, need to learn to count.

Gee, those Queenslanders are very talented for the age group.

Unfortunately the statistics don't back up your claim. Last time these boys competed against each other was at the National Schoolboy Championships in 2016. Results were
Champions: NSW 2
Runners Up: NSW 1
Third: Combined States
Fourth: Victoria
Fifth: Queensland II
Sixth: Queensland I
Seventh: ACT
Queensland were hardly a dominant side for this age group.

Queensland however did dominate the selections for the National Schoolboys team with 9/25.
Interestingly the head Australian selector for that squad was from Queensland and is the same selector for this squad.
Our results for that team against New Zealand were loss 32-23 and loss 28-17 to NZ Barbarians
It appears history is repeating itself in selections and we are expecting a different result.Crazy??

The fact that many of these boys have flowed straight into the Reds Super Rugby team is more a reflection on the fact that the Reds have been for many years struggling at the bottom of the Super Rugby ladder and are attempting to rebuild with youth. Under 20s players from the stronger states do not get that luxury. Obviously if you are playing Super Rugby or sitting on a bench in the eyes of selectors you are a lay down misere for a spot in the squad but this severely disadvantages great players from the stronger states who don't put U20s in their squads.
This is obvious from the 14 QLD selected v 6 NSW(Charlie Hancock is a Brumbie)

The ARU has to take a long hard look at how our National U20s teams are being selected. A QLD coach and a QLD selector is always going to result in a QLD dominated side.
Given the Reds results however is this good for Australian Rugby????

The Reds have been very dominant in this age group for the last few years. Good to see a lot of them flow straight into Super Rugby

There is 1 QLD name missing, I would of thought would be the first on the list.

Will Eddie,

Anyone know what he is up to.

I don't know all of the players but a lot of the Queensland players selected are pretty obvious selections.

Last year there were more Queenslanders than NSW players as well and the coach then was from NSW.

I think you are reading too much into it.

A bunch of the Queensland players are in the squad again after going to the Under 20 World Cup last year. The core of this squad were at the 2015 Schoolboys Championships.

Wonderful we have returning players but are they the best we've got?? We came 6th in the World Championships last year. I am all for picking a team that can WIN a world Championship not just compete!!!

Yes, they are largely the best we've got.

We routinely come 5th to 8th at this level because we don't have the development structures in place to consistently do better.

If incumbency was a factor, you would think a player like Dan Mathews would be back in the frame, after playing Oceania last year. Don't think he made any squad.

So there must be some very good front row boys this year.

So if all the Qld boys played school championships 2015, then this gets back to Qld school system finishing a year younger than the rest of Aus.
