Wallabies 2025

Leota isn't in the mix for me. It may be McKellar and his questionable systems but he has been nowhere near form this year, and is second to thor for his report card on effort.

I'd be backing gleeson's inclusion over leota.
No doubt. Gleeson is a must inclusion, playing the form of his life.

If it were tomorrow, It's:
4. Williams 5. Salakaia-Loto
6. Valetini 7. McReight 8. Gleeson
19. Skelton 20. Wilson

with Wilson and Skelton coming on together at the 50th so the LO doesn't go to shit. If 6/2 whack Tizzano on the bench and tell McReight to go hell for leather for 50.

With the size of the pack the Lions will have, I don't want Frost anywhere near goal line defence.

Lineout would really struggle imo.
4. Williams 5. Frost
6. Valetini 7. McReight 8. Wilson
19. LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) 20. Hooper/Uru 21. Gleeson (if going for a 6/2)

A bit of versatility on the bench is what we need. If needed LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) should be able to cover blindside and Hooper should be able to cover 2nd row. How well they can do this another thing. While Gleeson pretty much does what Bobby and Wilson does. Can't play LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) and Skelton in the same team I feel. This also means we need to work out who are we trying to playing for 80mins. Can we expect the 2nd row to do this, I'm not sure but I think it would be good if either Williams or Frost could tough it out for the 80. Sorta depends on what happens during the game I guess.

I don't think Frost's aerial abilities make up for his other deficiencies. Lions will also be running a shorter backrow. Sub Skelton on for Salakaia-Loto if you're scared of playing them together.

Aerial ability? as in Re-starts or Lineouts? He's our tallest option so very needed in the lineout. For e-starts Williams is our guy. I am concerned with Frost at the contact zone but that's about it. I can see how pairing him with either LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) or Skelton would help there. If Skelton or LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) are on the bench you'd surely need Uru or Hooper there as well for that presence in lineout.

DC, He is a huge unit with a good skillset, BUT he doesn't have the aggression necessary, or the natural ability to play lock that Eales (ability) or Vickerman's aggression. Unless things change, he will be on the bench as a good finisher against the Lions.
