If Joe wins the next two matches he bumps up to 50% which meets Cheika and Links.

This is also a bloke who has taken over statistically the worst and second worst Wallabies team in the last 50 years.

And this is to say nothing of all the Wallaby coaches prior to the mid-1970s, when our record was considerably poorer.

Feel a bit sorry for Edmed cause he really got less than zero help from Paisami at 12 (who's decision making was outright moronic). That said nothing I've seen from Edmed suggest he's anything better than a decent Super Rugby player. A wallaby 10 he aint. Lolesio and Lynagh are both much better suited to the type of 10 the team needs and in the absence of them id be minded to make an SOS call to Oconnor. Gordon is a decent player but I'm not sure throwing him straight in at 10 is the answer. Although honestly its hard to imagine him doing worse.

It's unfortunate that we're in the situation we're in at 10 right now. I feel for Tane, because he doesn't pick himself, but he's not test standard based on anything I've seen so far. Our attack for the last few tests has been pretty ordinary and whilst I'm still optimistic about the rest of the tour we're going to need a massive step up to win any of these games.

I don't want to argue that is all sorted because we clearly have a mountain of work to do in this regard, but the reform has also pretty clearly started - the pathways and age group program is well ahead of where they used to be, including breaking the under 18s away from schools as the premier team in the under 18 age group, something New Zealand are still struggling with.

There's a lot more to do (particularly around coaching development and lower level professional pathways) and more vision and direction required to get it done, but it's wrong to suggest we haven't started that reform.

I was going to say, the 2025 Super Rugby Under 16 and 19 series is well underway and that's not something that's been part of the past; we have the Super Rugby Aus, helping here. We tried to tie alot of the younger guys to Union.

We then need to make sure we are getting as many boys and girls into playing the game as possible. definitely a mountain to climb.

This is an odd comment? what in that game besides the crawling was ‘moronic’ by Paisami. He isn’t a playmaker but his role was clearly to carry it up into a rushing English defence and take pressure off Edmed, which he did, pretty well actually.

even the kick he did was the right decision, just a shit kick.

If don't run the pack (particularly the back row) in pods, you cannot get LFB, and our attacking breakdown is often one of ours v 3 of theirs due to running one off, with the runners looking for an offload and not concerned as much about the breakdown.

I also notice our pack seems to be slower getting around the paddock than the teams we play mostly.

Its not the pods themselves that are the issue. Its how slow we are at forming them and then its first phase all the way so we kick.

The other issue is gordon needs a silver service opportunity to have a run and so nobody in the opposing D needs to stay square.

I think JAS at fullback has to be looked at. His athletic ability is wasted in the midfield. Should have been looked at when Wright first went down, so that somebody like Flook or Daugunu had more footy in them leading into now

Watched a replay of the Gobal 7's game between Aus and NZ. That Cooper Watters is pretty bloody good under the high ball. Has an almighty leap on him! The high ball shouldn't be an issue in the near future with Mark N (Nawaqanitawase) and Petaia coming back in the frame. Then there's this kid and Pritchard. Others will pop up too.

Disagree strongly, the sooner we can get him on the pitch, the better off we will be come RWC. I have had enough of the conservative approach to our rugby. I don't know where it is coming from, as our best teams have recognised talent and got them on the field asap.
There are some guys on this site (Not you) arguing that players at 20-23 are too young to be playing for the Wallabies! In our history, we have always believed that if they are good enough, our national team needs them.

We are playing too tight, is it because we don't have the speed to play a fast open game? Looked like that last Saturday.

Well the game play seemed to be mostly first phase play - the ball wasn't getting far out from each ruck. How much of that was down to the Pom's being offside, or just our lack of grunt who knows.

We didn't get the ball out to the guys with the speed to make any impact, Jorgenson got next to nothing. Our pack looked very pedestrian and slow to the breakdown. McRight was the only forward who could keep up with the speed of the poms.. Were the poms playing 7's????

Everybody knows, we are poor in the air. I thought Schmidt might put JAS to wing or 15 just for this game, as it was obvious what was coming, and we had no counter to it.

We have had the issue all season of running dwarves in kick receipt

Our starting 10s have been found out in the defensive receipt and run over, jorgo has had the same issue with big charging units just run over them. They were able just to isolate Lynagh and pummel him

What I find baffling is that nothing has changed, the off the ball effort hasn't improved, the kick receipts haven't improved

I have noted over the last 20 years a pattern in our performances v time with a coach. The longer the coach is in charge, a decline starts, and then we get a new coach and it starts all over again. No idea why, it just seems to happen consistently.
