Wallabies v Italy - 9 November

Jake Gordon has some of the worst decision making I’ve ever seen out of a Test 9. Constantly passes to a blindside where we are out outnumbered, and picks and goes after a big break with a 4 man overlap, constantly runs his attack out of space

In terms of Rugby smarts we honesty have the dumbest players around. No one players with any situational understanding
and it's the same problems for ever

Where's the beef

FUCK SAKE we are an awful team

Sleepy Joe has got to go - he has been a dreadful coach, we have barely improved under him

in the last 8 games we have gotten worse every game, way to keep interest in rugby really low with these shit performances showing no pride in Aus
Typical Australian response.

Alot of good has come from Joe. Like Eddie before him he lost alot of players that would be picked.

Largely this year, they have looked motivated and played as a team win lose or draw. Today, they looked like Xmas break was 2 games away and the plane is at the gate.

Les will be next, but, he also has had a pretty good reds team that when the blowtorch has been applied they have consistently pulled up short.

The pack needs some mongrel. We are missing Langi and skelton alot. Bobby V looks a shadow of himself on this tour.

what good has come from Jo that was our 26th test with him and I saw no improvement compared to our first game with him

He also has the 2nd worst win rate of all time, only above the only other coach who lost to Italy

That's right. For that reason a second row like Skelton is more important than Ikitau, and a centre like Ikitau is more important than a winger like Marky

It's like Skelton > Ikitau > Marky Mark (Nawaqanitawase) (Nawaqanitawase)

If you have a million dollar you should spend something like:
500k for Skelton
300k for Ikitau and
200k for Marky Mark (Nawaqanitawase) (Nawaqanitawase)

But the geniuses who run Rugby Australia want to spend millions on Marky while Skelton plays in France and Ikitau in England...
Ikitau is on a sabbatical and I’m good with that, he will probably come back a better player after getting some proper coaching. In fact we would probably be better off farming out our best 23 players to European sides. And the next 23 after them.

RA and Waugh bent over backwards to accommodate Schmidt and kept making special considerations to keep him.

The goal being he would improve the team and help us regain our mojo.

The goal is now out of reach. The team has gone backwards essentially since Schmidt extended past his original finish date.

You’re like $300k short of even hitting Skeltons base salary he’s currently on. Probably another $200k short do Len and $400k short on Mark.

Or another million bucks.

And all those players mentioned (Lonergan, LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto), Pietsch, Jorgo or Daugunu) are mediocre at best. And I have nothing against them. In fact, I like almost all of them. But this squad has very few top players. Skelton, Ikitau, and not much else. The problem is structural, and the solution will only be seen in about 5 or 10 years if you start making the right decisions. This generation is beyond repair; it is what it is.

Yeah this beatification of Schmidt by some needs to stop. He’s made some absolutely bizarre selections and got tactics wrong quite a bit. He’s been helped by coaching straight after Eddie Jones which would make anyone look like a genius, but in a vacuum his tenture flattered to deceive and is now ending in as bad a place as it started

Geez, I’m not feeling great but there are some serious doomsayers around this morning. To say that Schmidt hasn’t made a net improvement since October 2023 is delusional.
How exactly have we improved? You or I could have improved the team from what Eddie left, but how is the team better today than it was against Wales last year??

Plenty of good.

1st win against Eng;land last year,
2:1 Lions, which could have easily been 1:2, First win in SA in a very very long time, leading the RC until the final rounds when the injury list really hurt.
Selecting Ikiatu at 12 because he understood how weak we were in that area.

We made a mistake with Dave Rennie to in my opinion. I saw a team developing under him and playing for eachother. That tour had a number of very very close results.

Les will not inherit a perfect side, but he will inherit a better one than joe did.

It's just an example, mate. The numbers aren't exact, and they don't have to be. The point is that Skelton and Ikitau are worth two or three times as much as a winger, whoever the winger is.

The thing is that they (RA) are gonna spend a lot of money in a winger while Skelton and Ikitau should be your first investments
