Waratahs 2023

The Ghost of Raelene

Harder to crack the England team at Fullback though than here. Might pop up in the future but he was in the Wallabies wider training group a couple years back.

Haven’t looked into myself but will the Trials be streamed?

There's one 38 capped former Waratah (also the longest serving NSW coach in Super Rugby) who doesn't appear to be in attendance.

On the other hand I can see Michael Hooper and Ashley-Cooper sitting at one of the tables - clearly Ewen didn't get the memo Lol...

You know there's 38 capped former Waratah & the longest serving NSW coach in Super Rugby who doesn't appear to be in attendance.

On the other hand I just seen AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) (Adam Ashley-Cooper) and Hooper sitting at one of the tables - clearly Ewen didn't get the memo Lol...

Clearly there’s a lot you missed in those eight years of being frozen…

He defected to the Reds, bloke went north and coached the goddamn enemy, hence no invite for Ewen.

And thereafter was considered a defector to the cause - the NSW old-boys never forgive and they never forget!

Ewen doesn't want to be involved with rugby by all reports. Don't blame the NSWRU for not sending an invite. I am sure they would have had him in a second. Particularly as Beale wouldn't have been there

Yeah, I followed the 2011 Reds campaign. I knew it but Ewen is a Victorian boy. Isn't he? He grew up in Melbourne and coached Brumbies so he isn't 100% a NSW boy

Ramm's problem was injuries let Pietsch and Nawaqanitawase leapfrog him.

He had an excellent debut season and then really couldn't put consistent game time together for the two seasons that followed it to take him to the next level.

I remember sitting behind his family when he debuted at the new Parramatta Stadium. He came off the bench at half time and finished an excellent team try. His family went wild. It was great being there to see it.

Understandably he doesn't want to be involved with rugby but he did make the effort to attend a Randwick membership event last year.

Interestingly, this must be the first media appearance since his despondent figure was last captured walking down that Suncorp tunnel....

I'm sure with Eddie Jones' return to Aus, his long-time Randwick mate would usher him in as Wallabies forwards coach in a heart-beat...

If he hasn’t been working in rugby for 8-9 years, that would be an issue.
There's also the inconvenient fact that Slipper and Hooper are in still in the team & are still part of the leadership group too - as they were also part of the leadership under McKenzie (co-captain & captain respectively) back in 2014, but still a fascinating idea to entertain nevertheless!

Probably only fascinating to you. I think most of the rest of us are bored shitless by the relentless rehashing of this "issue".
