Unfortunately, we have a lost generation of real 5/8 ball playing talent gone to the mungoes like Katoa and Joey Walsh that are very hard to replace.

Katoa was always a League player in the Penrith system who they sent to Barker. Path wasn't there at the Panthers so he signed with the Dolphins. That one was never happening. Same as Cameron Murray when he was at Newington.

Walsh was a hard one as he was a genuine multi sport talent that the NRL got. Have little doubt he'll be a long time play maker for Manly along side Onitoni Large from Scots. Both NSWRU Captains of their age groups with Walsh the Aus 18s Captain.

Personally I'd prefer a third tier comp so some of these academy and underage players can get some more game time before being thrust into super.
