Just spoke to Lachie - he thinks his injury is a hammy - but said that pain shows up in funny places sometimes; so it could be something else.

Try Tahs A -missed it. Betham a couple of good runs already. McKibbin very sharp.
Sneaky Tahs tap kick try. Trist in corner. Excellent McKibbin conversion from touch.
52-5

2 good runs by Lopeti; stopped on goal line - gets hurt - gets up. Scrum after ruck - ball to Browne - try. Conv 59-5.

Missed stuff having to go to reception to update wi-fi code 3/4 time 69-5

1st half best Barnes and Pretorius but all forwards good.

3rd quarter Lopeti dynamic; hard to stop every time. Foley looks like specialist 12.

Dominant Tahs A scrum - as it was for main team.

McKibbin excellent game - off - Hart on. Hangers a class above at this level, Foley looks like Super player at 12.13 Hodge a couple of good runs.

Maul try 76-5

Peterson knocking guys over on a run.

Hardly a Tah isolated all night - look well coached.

How have the Samoans looked? Have the Tahs just been too good, or have their opposition been woeful or a combination of both?

Game over 83-5.

The Tahs A team with only 7 contracted players looked a class above such teams from the past, which argues that they have been coached well.

The Samoa teams tried their best but you could see that they were mostly amateurs.

Thanks heaps Lee. My lousy night just cheered up completely reading your posts.

Not happy about Lachy, two weeks to fix a hammy is not enough and we are skinny on the wings with Mitchell and Pakalani still down.

Great to hear Lopeti is looking good.

The AAP write-up is out. Seems there was a last minute change of coach, the team performed admirably given the cirumstances. I have never heard of the new bloke:

Waratahs romp to 83-5 trial win over Samoa

South African recruit Sarel Pretorius made a strong debut for the Waratahs in a convincing 83-5 Super Rugby trial victory over Samoa A in Tamworth on Friday.

The halfback didn't figure on the scoreboard but looked very sharp in a game used as an experiment by new Waratahs coach Chris Foley.

Pretorius was well-supported by Berrick Barnes as the Waratahs opened up a 38-5 lead by halftime when both teams made wholesale changes at Scully Park.

Tom Carter crossed twice on the back of strong drives, while Damien Fitzpatrick posted a second-half hat-trick.

All up the Waratahs scored 13 tries but will be concerned by a hamstring injury to winger Lachie Turner, which will be assessed back in Sydney on Sunday.

The Samoan selection was lacking star players on duty with their European clubs.

You've gotta hope someone picks up the error before it's run in the rest of the press.
