Ricky Riccitelli has surely levelled it up here. Yep, except it looks like Eves scored it & RR was adjacent. 19-21 & a man up, 'canes should romp home from here.

EDIT: now they're saying it was Ben May.

Karpik keeps the dream just barely alive, 28-19 but 70 gone so Chiefs win the match but 'canes will host next week for the right to be the losing semi finalists the week after :)

Reminds me of the time the poor Frenchie, Grosso, broke his face against NZ.

Glad they got the result right here.

Yeah, apart from being completely different it was exactly the same.

I was thinking some one had put the frighteners on Ben Skeen not a peep from him all night. And only one review on the Evans try. Till the red card but he at least got that right.

Think you'd much rather be lining up against the Hurricanes than the Chiefs, Hurricanes have really gone off in the second half of the season.

a good game of rugby - always a pleasure to watch two Kiwi sides ( unless one is the Blues - sorry DP) and surprised by the result, but that just goes to show how the Kiwi underdog always comes to the game with his best game - so great to see.

Highlights:

Surprised there was no post-match presentation for Messam but he's always been all about the team so maybe doesn't want to be made a fuss of while there's still games of footy to be won.

Disgusting hit from Fa'auli on Goosen - gets the deserved red card and should be 6 weeks off.

Got four weeks (reduced from six) for a similar offence v Brumbies in April so you'd think he'll get six for this one, maybe more if they take his Taranaki form into account (which I'm not sure they can but IMO should be able to), he's had at least one Red that I can recall. Plus he's not an AB so go-to Nigel won't get him off (thought I'd get that out there before one of the usual suspects does :)).

Nisbo in his intro just described the Bloos season as "Dismal". Pillock :).

EDIT: if anyone's wondering about the empty seating the players are walking past its temporary seating for next week (& hopefully the two after that) that isn't fully installed yet.

AIoane has beaten 74 defenders this season, 10 more than anyone else AND the next four on the list are wingers & fullbacks. So, once again, my question is: how the FUCK is Akira Ioane not an All Black? Got some rough edges? OK, get him in the environment & do some of that "coaching" shit on him. Simples, no?

Synergy watch: 16 min 34 sec. Not a record but surely Top-10 at least.
And, he said it in reference to..... to..... the Auckland Blues defence! Only 0-5 at that stage. Probably the proudest moment of my life. I burst into tears. It's been an emotional time.

Cantabs getting some solid tackling practice in before the playoffs. No need to try too hard on attack. Don't want to run it up and hit the playoffs all complacent

Akira now strangling his own players in the maul. I probably would, too, if I were the only cnut putting in the hard yakka. Then he casually goes to the back of the maul as the ball-carrier like it's not even a drama. "Oh that? Yeah, it's something I've been toying with for a while now, it's a work in progress but I'm pretty pleased with it so far"

Holy shit, Bloos earn a scrum PT. Unheard of in this Century. Witchcraft involved, defiantly.
