It's certainly encouraging. I'm more interested in seeing some of these blokes take the step up. Has McReight got Super caps? Also Lucas looks great but hes definitely on the small side. Should make for interesting viewing.
Yep McReight has come off the bench twice this year, not a lot of minutes, but has got on.
Already plenty of talk about him starting at 7 next year with Wright to 6 and ASY (Angus Scott-Young) to 8, can see Wilson getting time next year as well, most likely off the bench.

Lucas would have played a shit load of super rugby this year if it wasn’t for U20’s, agree he is on the small side, but has great core strength and leg drive with a little bit of mongrel tenacity thrown in , plays well above his weight. Can see him being our long term 10 at the Reds.

In fairness I think most of that chat is from this forum! ;)

But as a bloke spruiking it, I hope it catches on.

True , but talking real life as well, he is a true 7 in my eyes and plenty of others’, in my older son’s circle of friends, which adds nothing to his rugby ability , but a favourite of mine nonetheless. Can throw the other two in there as well, plenty trumpeting their cause amongst those who have watched them come through the ranks .

I know Thompson has big wraps on Walton. Question has ever played 13 before?

Argentina have won Pool A with 11 points & PD of +43 but France (11 & +14) will also go through as "best runner-up".

Australia will win Pool B unless they lose by 40+ v Ringinland, currently 10 points & PD +52 with a game in hand over Ireland (10 & +12).

Winner of NZ v SA will be the fourth SF: both on 10 points.

I dislike that red card call.

I dislike the officiating at the ruck where England are clearing players out well past the ruck and holding on to them on the ground.

I dislike the ref not insisting they need to release the tackler before going for a turnover.

We are getting spanked. Set piece under massive pressure. Being a man down is not helping.

England are playing excellent one man up rugby. The ref is helping.

We’ve still shown some classy play.

Australia have already won Pool B. Ireland can't overtake them because they lost the head-to-head match.

Which is fortunate fo Australia because they're getting humped in this game.

Still, bit of a training run for the boys. :)

Aussies score early in the 2nd half but of course they check it and rule a pass forward.

Hard angled run from Will Harris, scores!

A minute later he holds up the England ball carrier, maul called - scrum feed.

Disappointed with lettting in over 50 points but they can hold their heads high after playing with 14 because of a dubious red.

The more Lucas had the ball, the better we looked.

McReight will be a wallaby in the next couple of years. What a leader.

Lonegran was great when he came on, throwing was much improved and he provided some much needed go forward. Harris and Tizzano were good coming off the bench also.

I am still not sure about the centres, along with our scrum, the centres seem to be a weak point.

Oh and the reffing was shit.

Agree about the ref.

That was an interesting game. I think England came in with nothing to lose and determination to make up for a disappointing campaign thus far. We were kinda the opposite. We had made the finals and I don’t think we were switched on. In hindsight perhaps we should have played a completely different team.

Anyway the red card (questionable in my eyes) just exacerbated the above. England got a massive lift and we seemed to check out a little. The two brilliant tries that brought us close almost seemed to give us a false sense of security. We perhaps thought our class would see us through and we’d compete without working.

England played exceptional one man up rugby. They dominated the scrum and the outside channeled.

I think they got the rub of the officiating too. Plus we dropped too much ball and missed too many tackles.

In saying that for us to score 5 tries was it? Very good. We can still take some positives from it. McReight is sensational. As is Lucas.

Now we play Argentina on Monday.

Only caught the back end so can’t comment on the game.
A loss will be good for the boys, maybe they were starting to believe the hype about them in the media.
