Had a question mark on Legg. Dropped 2 easy pills and missed a straightforward tackle that resulted in a try. But you know what? He didn’t let that bother him and was working as hard at the end of the game as he was trying at the start. His lock team mate was very safe in the lineouts and will get a run at some stage from the bench.
Not sure the 15 deserved another start! But happy to be proven wrong.

Strong up front. I thought Gordon controlled the plays and was instrumental in most of the tries. Goal kicking misses didn’t go unnoticed. With the best halves starting, they will feed better ball to the backline runners and push forwards in attack as they did when they come on against Fiji.

I think Gordon will be better with Wilson and Bowen steering the ship. Or at least I hope so.
Vaihu deserved the spot after the first game but gee Annan has put in some good showings in the U20s. O’Donnell and Bowen did play well together in NZ and have played together for almost a decade which is strange to say at this age.
Agree Legg feels lucky but it might be the skinniest position depth wise in the squad.

Possibly because both teams have to hop on a plane to the middle of Canada for their next games starting only 9 days later.
Big trip to the opposite side of the globe and the jet-lag is worse flying east. Gives them a couple extra days to recover. If you use the 'one day to recover per timezone' idea, they'd need 8 days (hopefully some scientific prep can reduce the timeframe).

Mason Gordon's game against Fiji was error prone and indecisive. Hopefully he got all of that out of his system in that game and performs to the standard set by the rest of the side against Ireland.

That's why I hope Wilson & Bowen will allow him to just be the Fullback and do his thing there and not be a proxy 10 like he seemed to be against Fiji. HMP didn't play badly but it looked like Gordon was trying too hard in a way. He'll only get better at 15 the more time he gets.
In the games v NZ Wilson was definitely the pace setter and main decision maker from what I could see. I'd also assume Bowen takes over the kicking duties

The entire 23 will need to pull their socks up against Ireland. Sam Prendergast from Ireland will run rings around them if they don’t get moving fast and get rid of their errors.

We all need to remember we played our 2nd team against Fiji with limited time together on the field. The team named here is the best available. When some of these guys came on against Fiji with a man down we quickly reasserted dominance.
On Gordon he was very hot and cold against Fiji. I agree it would help if he takes a step back, but thought he was involved in most things good against Fiji, sad thing he was involved in a lot of things bad. There was several try’s that wouldn’t have happened if he didn’t chime in.
It would be just typical of another Aus back been a rocks and diamonds player.

Really? I watched the game last night and admittedly dont really know any of the players that well and he was one of the guys that stood out to me as being an impact player. I can only assume the expectations for him are high. I thought he had some really good moments, most noticably a big try saving tackle on the sideline

i honestly think that because Bowen was ‘rested’ off the bench & Lynah inj he involved himself a bit more than needed too.
tbf he is 19 & has controlled a qpr side around the park he just over played his hand probably desperate for a win knowing we don’t win it tournament over.
we are now full strength, hopefully he put his best foot fwd kicks all his goals & scores a hat trick but we do forget how young & raw these guys are

The starting 10 didn’t step up so Gordon probably looked to do more and looked pumped doing it. Didn’t always go his way and at the same time the coaches lucky to have him on the field for the attack and opportunities created. This week’s team the strongest opposing IRE.
