Melbourne Rebels 2024

Rebels are advertising for an unpaid video analyst position, was genuinely going to apply when I realised they need 1-2 work days free, don’t think my boss would appreciate it.

So they only get students and retirees?
1-2 days period or 1-2 days... per week?

Usually people a paid for their employment with currency they can exchange for goods and services…
So, you’ve never volunteered before? Never done something for no pay to get experience so you can get into your chosen profession? If the Rebels spend money, that’s bad. If they don’t spend money, that’s also bad. Makes complete sense.

Er, no… this is not working the sausage sizzle.

Anyone who offers “experience” instead of renumeration for significant skills based work is a joke, to put it politely.

It's behind a paywall ... in part: "
The chairman of Melbourne Rebels Super Rugby club Paul Docherty is the director of 10 companies that have lost at least $70 million.

The Harvard Business School graduate is also the club’s major sponsor, raising questions about the Rebels’ future.

Insiders claim the Rebels was considering handing back its licence to Rugby Australia because it could not pay its bills, including up to $1 million owed to AAMI Park where it plays."

Who's not these days. Even hear it with NRL coaches having done a two day course are now some enlightened superior to the rest of us.

How this whole thing doesn't derail a season, I can't imagine. Doesn't take much in professional sport with the smaller margins and no doubt the last month would have players looking around for their futures.
