Terrace showed bravery in defeat today, almost upsetting a ferocious premiership contender BGS. Good game played by the entire GT squad, and huge attendance shows their is still much belief in this Terrace 2011 outfit. Hope all enjoyed their corresponding weekend fixtures.

Unfortunately Terradome, I feel as if that was GT's last chance for victory. I'm not a fan of teams going winless but it looks as if 0-8 is on the cards unless they can pull off a minor miracle against TSS. Enjoy the spoon, I'm sure its only one of few the great school has ever achieved, let's hope there's not too many more in coming years.

I was able to get out to the bgs vs. gt match yesterday. BGS seemed to be in control for the majority of the game and the score line could have been much worse for terrace if it were not for some desperate defence from them on their line which saw grammar lose the ball a few times. Terrace seemed quite vulnerable out wide and in the back where tries were scored on fast breaks but they seemed to be more interested in causing fights then playing the game at times.

I watched the terrace vs. grammar game and i was impressed by of a few of the BGS boys. The 7 was a strong runner and very strong in defence often stealing the ball in both tackles and the breakdown. The 12 showed a lot of aggression and ran hard all day also passing off to set up line breaks or a try. The 11 gained metres every time he ran it, scored a great try of a kick and nearly scored a full field try if not for an obstruction call. Can anyone provide names?

BGS will have a very strong 1st XV if all players are fit, however this competition doesn't always go to the most talented team. I dare say BGS doesn't have the depth if they lose one of their back rows or a 10/12. Depth is my only question mark over an otherwise pretty solid outfit that if they can remain fit should finish top 3. Probably not potential premiers just yet like many are tipping and were tipping this year.

2011 Predictions
1. Nudgee - By far the dominant team in the age group from 13's through 15's, they'll continue Nudgee's string of premierships. An argument can be made for Churchie, particularly considering their recruiting for their centenary year, but Tuttle, Shipperley and Anae, among others, can't be matched by Churchie.
Possible losses - Churchie, BSHS
2. Churchie - A case can most definitely be made for Churchie to be premiers, and by all means it could happen. They'll have the best backline in the competition, retaining their halves pairing from this year, as well as Ioane. More than capable replacements will be found in Poplawski at inside centre as well as Angus Mclanachan figuring to play some form of role in the backline.
Likely loss/es - Nudgee
Possible losses - State High, Grammar, Terrace
3. State High - One of the better 16A's sides this year, have had few players in the firsts due to State High's tremendous depth, however this might be to their benefit as they'll be jelled well as a unit. Have been a solid age group through their time, finishing top 3 most years.

4. Terrace - The bounceback will come with a team more like '10 than '11. While many may write off the men in red and black because of the dismal form of this year's XV, this is Terrace's strongest age group of the past 5 years. A strong forward 16A's pack will rejoin Mellor, French and Power to form one of the biggest packs in the competition, maybe not quite up there with the likes of Nudgee, but definitely the best of the rest. Experience in the Terrace forwards will also be high, with 5 forwards getting time in the firsts this year. The backline, led by Given and Dalgleish, will also be strong. Questions at halfback and inside centre remain, however they'll most likely have the best flyhalf and fullback in the competition, with a more than capable outside centre in Jack Heenan and speedy winger in Robson. The return of Zac Little, member of the firsts squad from this year who has been forced out of the season from injury, will add size to the backline. The return to Tennyson will only bolster the spirits of the team. A solid age group through their time, expect to see them really pull it together this year, especially with a new coaching staff likely to be implemented.
Likely losses - Nudgee (a possible upset, the Terrace boys will play their hearts out against the traditional rival, especially in front of a 10,000 strong crowd marking 50 years at Tennyson), Churchie, State High

6. Brisbane Grammar - Talented year 11's who played in the 1's this year will be joined by a woeful 16's group low on talent, speed and size. Unless some buying is done, which wouldn't surprise anyone the way Grammar have been lately, a real letdown from this season is likely.

Possible losses - Anyone but BBC and TGS
