At scrummie Genia should be rested but Phipps on the bench would be great. No doubt Giteau will start at 10 and JOC (James O'Connor) at 12 to rest QC (Quade Cooper) plus AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) at 13 but who the replacement centre, if any?

I think Deans should give McCabe a run as backup centre... he'll hopefully be the Brumbies' outside centre from next year and I think as time goes by he'll be challenging AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) for that Wallaby spot...

If they do rest Cooper then it is an ideal time to test JOC (James O'Connor) at 12 against some pretty robust opposition.
Gits 10 and JOC (James O'Connor) at 12.
It is also a chance to see how Vicks goes when starting.

I forgot about Vickerman to be honest when I made my last post. I see that he hasn't been named to play for Sydney Uni today, nor Kepu for Randwick, but the teams in the programmes are often not kosher on game day.

Yeah Slim, McCabe could be a replacement. His playing at 12 for the Brumbies confirmed his junior and Rats ability to play most positions in a back line with distinction. We are yet to see him start at flyhalf as he did for Oz U/19s sometimes, but having to play some stints at first receiver now and then to cover for an injured team mate may occur one day too. He would be the ideal reserve in a 5/2 test split in the future.

He would rather be judged on his merits as a starting player but it's early days yet for him.

Gits at 10, JOC (James O'Connor) at 12 and Vickerman starting are the key selections for me. We already know who is best or thereabouts in all the other positions.

Lee Grant, I didn't see vickers on the field today, when I spoke to Laurie Weeks on Thursday, Laurie, Jerry Y & Nathan Charles were on the bench.

All players who are Wallabies or potential wallabies are wrapped up in cotton wool ATM, including Phil Waugh & Carter

Seeing as Deans' has announced that he won't be resting any Reds players, I think the 22 will look like this:
1. Robinson
2. Moore
3. Alexander
4. Sharpe
5. Horwill
6. Elsom (c)
7. Pocock
8. McCalman
9. Genia
10. Cooper
11. Ioane
12. O'Connor
13. Ashley-Cooper
14. Turner
15. Beale
----------------
16. Fainga'a
17. Kepu
18. Simmons
19. Robinson
20. Phipps
21. Giteau
22. McCabe

I'd start Kepu, but he's only just returned from injury and Slipper's unfit, so may as well start Alexander.

This is assuming he will go with a 100% squad which I'm still not convinced about. While RD might not be resting the Reds he might well be testing some different combos and subs. What they might be I have no idea.

Benn, Moore, Alexander
Vicks, sharpe,
Elsom, samo, pocock
Phipps
Quade
Gits, AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)
Digby, Beale, JOC (James O'Connor)

Res: faainga, kepu, Simmons, beau, burgess, Gerard, Davies

Think he'll use this game to test a few returning options like vicks, samo and gerard, and also some new recruits like Phipps, beau and Davies. Am assuming burgess is fit, otherwise Sanchez on the bench

The game is going to be on TV in my area so I was thinking of dropping the stats throughout the game in this forum instead of tweeting. I have mostly followers from South Africa and then Australia, rest of world, then NZ, so it might not be so relevent to them.

So people's thoughts? Would people like this? I will still do the game so the the computer modelling programme gets a sense of the teams for RWC, it just where to drop the output during the game I need guidence on...

There'll be hardly in Reds in the squad for this match, they'll be rested. Beale & Phipps in the halves, kidding yourself if you put Burgess ahead of him (I've taken my Rebels hat off).

My predicted line-up for the game. Taking injuries into account, as well as Reds players likely to be rested

1-Robinson
2-Moore
3- Kepu (assuming he is fit)
4-Vickerman
5-Sharpe
6-Elsom
7-Pocock
8-McCalman
9-Phipps (assuming Burgess is injured still)
10-Cooper (i believe he will back up)
11-Ioane
12-Giteau
13-Ashley-Cooper
14-O'Connor
15-Beale

Bench: Hanson, Slipper(or Alexander if not fit), Mumm/Timani, Hodgson, Genia, McCabe, Davies/Turner

Burgess is injured anyway.

Deans has stated he will not rest the Reds players.

So what does Deans do?
He has a handful of green players in his squad, and a couple of old hands who haven't played at the op level for a while. Does he rest some incumbents and give the aforementioned a run or does he play what he feels is his best side so they can get some combinations going for the Tri Nations?

1. Benn Robinson
2. Stephen Moore
3. Sekope Kepu
4. Nathan Sharpe
5. Dan Vickerman
6. Rocky Elsom (c)
7. David Pocock
8. Ben McCalman
9. Nick Phipps
10. Matt Giteau
11. Pat McCabe
12. James O'Connor
13. Adam Ashley-Cooper
14. Rod Davies
15. Kurtley Beale
----------------
16. Saia Fainga'a
17. James Slipper
18. Sitaleki Timani / Rob Simmons / James Horwill
19. Beau Robinson / Matt Hodgson
20. Will Genia
21. Quade Cooper
22. Digby Ioane

Reds players won't be rested...but they might be played from the bench? Gives Phipps good game time, Matt Giteau trialled as back up 10 and some other fringe players a chance to make their claim against international competition.

There is no doubt in my mind that he will rest at least some of the Reds players, or give them only short game time. He would be silly not to. (Despite what he has said.)

The only ones I could see playing full games would be Cooper and Davies.

Hmm I don't really think Beale offers a similar cover for Cooper at all. Cooper plays a game that no one else in the world can. Even if Beale could play like Cooper at 10, I would be going for a different style of flyhalf as a backup anyway to mix up the game plans a bit.

I understand what you are implying, but not enough time to organise all this. It is hard to change to a completely different game plan during a game even if planned. And for the record in a Wallabies starting side I think there should be
Horwill-no doubt
Higginbotham-he is in blinding form. Big, powerful, fast. I would pick him over Elsom
Genia-no doubt
Cooper-no doubt
A.Fainga'a-Gits, Barnes and JOC (James O'Connor) don't play the right style to combine well with Cooper. Trust me, Fainga'a needs to be inside
Davies-lightning quick, great defence, great form, gels well with other reds
Ioane-no doubt his form warrants it
