The AIC Competiton next year will explode with new talents comming from each school. Not one of the schools will be lesser than the other but in my honest opinion there will be a dominant four. Ashgrove, Eddies, Lauries and Villanova. In my opinion i dont think lauries vs ashgrove will be the game with the biggest crowd. Next season the two biggest clash ups will be Lauries vs Villa and Eddies vs Ashgrove. Let the blood be shed on the field which is 100m by 80m and let the man fight for the premiership cup that can finally be claimed and taken back to Moordoor. Let the Battle arise on the playing field and let all the boys remember: What happens on the field stays on the field.

Xavier, you hold a great point. But the boys arent in this one for the money, they're in it for the fame and the fourtune. Blood will be shed and bones battered and broken for the bragging rights which can be held after defeating every Golhem like opponent which they face. The boys will be dragged to hell and back and rugby balls will be fiddling along with rugby Gods gentle hands. Lets make the best of this 2012 season! FOR FRODO!

xavier, ive been watching this team develop from grade 8. besides the new inclusions i find it to be a formidable team whith premiership contention, what has let me down is that there are some suberb backs and forwards, but boys playing out of position and i think you might knw very well as who i am talking about. The 10 has seemed to set his place well, but i feel the 12,13,15 are all playing out of position, possiblely move them into the forwards and let them play there best ever rugby.

If you think they are out of position, where would you like to see them playing? I can understand your reasons behind the two boys who played 12 being shifted into the forward pack. But the 15 has held his own for a while now and I think he is suited to playing there.

Personally,
i find Jack Dempsey more of a 13 then a 15. pocess's all the skills, but can not kick.
Shayden McKay, at best a mobile prop, or impact player off the bench.
Jordan Scholl, at 8.
pushing xavier bell to 12,or even flanker.

My prediction is that eddies will be the dominant force next year with ashgrove and iona close by.

Peters might have an interesting side 5ish returning from the 1st XV of 2011 + 5 members of the Under 15 State Championship winning Met West side (which beat Met North full of Nudgee and Ashgrove Players) stepping up. Add in a couple of reasonably competent 16A's. The backline will be super quick, just need to find a front row.

Just letting everyone know don't get too caught up in the hype, saying who the best performers will be. I know from Villanova this year many expected Christian Welch to go further than he did. Much the same with Jamie Parker, he was meant to be one of the better scrummagers in AIC and he ended up in 2nds. Same to with the St. Laurence's captain and no.8 Tom Milosevic. These are just 3 examples, I am very sure there are more out there!

Wait I'm confused, wasn't Dempsey in the firsts this year at centre and played AIC 2?

just talk at this stage but i believe there is to be a new player arriving at St Laurence's, he is a back from England and is coming over for the rugby and Cricket, its said to believe his name is William Morris, heard to be a utility back man that can get around players with his light feet in attack and chase stop and prop players in defense. I believe if the roomers are true this player will cause utter most destruction to anybody who he comes across.

The Iona college team of 2012 will be very strong. With a 15a premiership this year, there will be plenty of competition for spots which will increase the level of rugby. In addition, there were 7 starting 16 year olds in the 2011 firsts, with an eight named for the first round but broke his ankle the night before. These 8 have been the backbone of this year group for a few seasons now, and there are some very pleasing talents coming through the ranks of Iona. Namely Brad Wilkin, and Brannagh Corcoran who were stand outs this year in the firsts, and big things will come of these two in the 2012 season.

with a good coach next year lauries are going to be tough, why don't they just get one of the Magpies coaches most of them play there anyway and they are an excellent club side. Does anyone know if any of the eddie boys are returning next year heard on the grapevine the prop may be staying can anyone confirm this.

Iona College is a scummy school, they play for themselves and have no pride for there team or playing as a 'team', all they care about is lifting weights and looking good, which is irrelevant because they can’t do either. They just create fights and try and act tough and they cant even do that, if you want a fine example of tough AIC school look no further that , St Edmonds, St Laurence’s and Ashgrove.
