Never been a huge fan of Quade personally, but at the same time, he got kicked out of a pub once. Seriously, is it that big a deal? If it was happening regularly, or even more than once in the past year it is getting a bit too much.

as do many others, but when you choose to have the big media profile, live on twitter etc. You simply can't get away with the same shenanigans as a boof head hooker living in Canberra does.

Does he choose to have the big media profile or do the media choose it for him?

So a pub owner kicks somebody out and because nobody else has come out to say anything else about the situation on either side, it means immediately that the pub owner is just a pub owner and thus should be discredited?

And now your even suggestting that the bird was asking for it?

Sorry mate, that's a complete crock of shit if ever I've heard it.

Where's there's smoke, there's fire. Sorry if you've just found out somebody you idolise isn't perfect.

I'd like to know which bird was asking for what exactly? He got kicked out for having a few too many to drink. I'm pretty sure this would have happened to most here at some stage of their lives. It's a misdemeanor, if it becomes a regular occurrence there is a problem, in isolation it's nothing condemning.

Pub owners are just legalized drug pushers... Not sure I should care what one particular drug pusher thinks. I bet he has an opinion on pokie machines too.

So we can take from this thread.

Bar keeps are drug dealers who are happy to lie at the drop of a hat.

Women ask for it and use footballers

Quade is a good bloke and the repeated behavior issues say more about society than his own actions.

Dealt with, we can move on safe in the knowledge society works

I think what we can take from this thread is:
"Man in Bar Gets Drunk" isn't really very interesting. Adding "Man who sold alcohol to man says man was drunk" doesn't make it more interesting. Neither does "Man banned from Pub where he doesn't live - so there's no implications at all" is just boring.

And yes - alcohol is a drug. So if you feel comfortable admitting that... and you like to drink it, then by broad definition should probably accept you're a druggie.

It is certainly a symbiotic relationship.

Cooper lives his life very publicly, everything from his twitter ramblings, to his high profile public girlfriend, to not signing a long term contract are designed (consciously or not) to keep his media profile very high and that profile makes him money as his grinning mug is known by more people.

But that same high media profile comes with a negative side as well.

The reality is that if Cooper restricted his comments to his friends on face book, had signed a long term contract with the ARU (don't we all look forward to the pages of speculation as to whether Cooper will resign or not each S15 season) and lived the normal quiet, private life of a high profile sportsman he wouldn't be as wealthy, but when he got kicked out of a pub, it wouldn't have be front page news and if reported at all would have taken up one inch on the inner pages of a local paper, not the back page.

I've never heard QC (Quade Cooper) complain about his media profile or attention..

Fair enough Fatprop, all good points there.
I find it interesting though that he's getting most of the attention in this thread because of something relatively minor, while Ripia isn't getting hardly any attention & he's a thieving scumbag stealing off his workmates, over a sustained period, to feed an addiction, has been shown the door from his club & will most likely never be heard from on a rugby field again. Indeed some even feel sorry for him! I guess it does come down to the media profile as to whether one be seen as a villain or not.

Yes i am one of those who feel sorry for him... Pathological gambling is a impulse control disorder, similar to kleptomania, hence why he was also caught stealing.

I'm with you TOCC I also feel sorry for anyone addicted to gambling. As for Cooper getting thrown out of a pub well It happens at least hundreds and probably thousands of times a day in this country and in my opinion shouldn't even rate a mention in the media unless a crime was committed.

England rugby player Danny Care had been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol

Disgraceful behaviour from a professional sportsman. England's drinking team needs to crack down hard on its rugby problem.

I'm a rampant druggie with my regular morning coffee...

It's disgusting to see all those drug dealers in cafes, restaurants and supermarkets accros the country...

They did. Care was over looked for the England squad. Props to Lancaster.

The bird comment was a retort to the original quote which I thought was out of line & fan-boy ism at it's best.

Agree, don't think it's a big deal at all. Whoopee, and early 20's rugby start got pissed and made an arse of himself once. Not a big deal at all. But trying to discredit the pub owner by a sweeping generalisation is again, poor form.
