This is hooolarious

Funny stuff but kinda sad given a lot of people really feel the way they do in the vid. Good thing there are those of us who enjoy sport so much we'd watch two fly's race up a wall. (I've deployed this youtube vid to my FB, too funny not to).

My fav was about Black Caviar - "she's won 100s of races but what's her f**king dressage like?", lol.

The gymnast boob line & the one about hoping they'd interview an athlete to "get her back story" both also very funny.

But I digress - well done K4 Crew!

Great win to K4 1000 crew: GGGGGOOOOOLLLLLDDDDD!!!!

Only 1/2 the family complement of LRJ's tonight, and we got Gold.

Inspired by hearing your mate Kenny on the ABC in the build up to the race in the car on the drive home. No show pony that lad.

Chez Jarse was pumping more than it was when Radike Samo scored against the Darkness last year, as the lads crossed 750 metres. Edge of the seat stuff and lots of yelling support from afar.

just flicked onto the rhythmic gymnastics. WTF? yes I agree they are skillful but seriously, a hoola hoop? when did Cirque du Soleil become an olympic event?

and now a girl has come out with a ball. What is this, choose your favourite item from the K-mart toy aisle? Who invented this as a discipline of gymnastics? Why, why is this your lasting legacy?

what's next skipping, elastics?

oh, I was wrong, a ribbon. what was I thinking? As least they can get a job in the David Jones gift wrapping department in between training

imagine you went in the ticket ballot and you got tickets to this

However if we won a gold in this event I'd think it was awesome

Edit: just watched a Korean girl (Son Yeon Jae) and I was actually impressed. I take some of the above back.

It is what it is

I thought our boxers performed well at these olympics.
No there weren't any medals, but their boxing skills, fitness, and confidence levels were much better than in previous games.
In past Olympics our boys have seemed too tentative, or technically inept or just relied on landing haymakers.
A few of this team were very young and inexperienced and will benefit immensely from the meet.

The Olympics curse for the Kookaburras strikes again. FAAAAAAARK!

I was watching until early in the second half and I just had this sinking feeling like so many times when they've played Germany in a major tournament. Bugger it!!!! I feel for Ric Charlesworth, he's had five shots at this as a player and coach in the men's game and has never won gold.

It would appear that the once proud and honourable profession of Sports Journalist has been reduced to tabloid eye candy sensationalism targeting the Woman's Weekly, Mad Magazine, Dolly Magazine, and Jackass, Nitro Circus, Big Brother, The Shire readership/viewership level.

Seems it is not only Rugby Media that is in a very poor quality state in the Sunburnt Country.

What happened?

The interviewer singled out Steffensen and in an agressive and provocative tone suggested that he (Steffensen) hadn't performed, that he had caused disharmony within the team. One question was 'There are those that will say you are all talk and no action. What do you say to them?' Can you believe that? He was obviously shattered and this turkey was deliberately trying to get a reaction. But while he was clearly uptight, Steffenson remained polite. If it was me I would have given the interviewer a cut price colonoscopy with the television camera. Fact is that Steffenson ran the best time despite major interference at the change over from another team (who were later disqualified).

I like to watch

David Codey (61)
Hats off to Steffenson, normally he's not shy to take a pop at someone.
Unlike the interviewer to be anything but sycophantic, maybe some history there?

The game between the Kookaburras and the Germans is outstanding. It is incredibly fast and both teams are really pushing it. 1 all at half time.
Watch it if you can.

Did not watch but listened to it over AM radio. Sounded like Dwyer was well marked.

I thought the post 4x400m interview on Channel 9 with Steffensen was very shabby. Steffensen showed remarkable restraint.

I have restored a bit of respect for Steffensen based on how well he composed himself in that post race interview.

Opals went down 83-73 to the USA. USA expected to win Gold of course but like their men were always going to be hard to beat. Opals will play off for Bronze. We actually led the US at 1/2 time but they double teamed Cambage in the 2nd & she couldn't even get one point. Jackson summed it up well "Shit happens" & that the key to getting better is for a lot more Aussie girls to play over in the WNBA. All the Opals were in tears after the game. Normally I'd be pretty much against the tears in defeat but I'm cool with it in this case as they've had Silver the past 3 Olympics against the US & now look to fight for Bronze after another loss to the US - I'd probably be tears too.

Forgot to mention WELL DONE IRELAND! First Gold of the games in Women's Boxing (women's boxing has just been introduced at this Olympics). 60kg Division winner Katie Taylor, Ireland's flag bearer & only woman in Irish team this Olympics I've been told.

What is it with this "Team GB" nonsense?

Last time I looked the nation state over in Pomgolia was officially called the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland; shortened form = UK.

Like the rugby, have the North and South Paddies set aside their political differences and combined to form a Ireland Island team? I think not.

Is this like the 88 Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony where Tassie was left off the map of Australia?

Maybe "Team GB" sounds better than "Team UK" (phonetically said Team uck?)

It is wrong I tell you. They are Team Uck.

Team GB is English arrogance at its very best. There are only two teams to support, Australia and ABE!!

Well played Hugh, those LRJs have sequestered much "luckiness"!

Yes, Ken is very much a "laid-back" lad, sadly I missed that interview.
Ken proposed to his girl friend Naomi after his final, after paddling with 'the ring' hanging around his neck! They have been an item for over six years and both lots of parents and some family members are over at Eton Dorney. Naomi and her parents have been friends of ours for 25 years, and I'm looking after their house and garden whilst they are enjoying the "Olympic experience"!
I have personally held 3 Olympic medals: Ken's Gold and bronze, and a soccer gold. I wonder how many Australians have held, or even seen, an Olympic soccer/football gold medal?!!

My LRJ's assisted 16 year-old Gold Coaster Brittany Broben to the dizzy heights (pardon the pun) of winning a silver medal in the 10 metre womens platform diving! That's one 'Brit' who we all wanted to do well!

Now that is a story the media should pick up and run with instead of trying to provoke a controversial remark from Steffensen immediately after that race.

Fell asleep on the couch after 1/2 time in the mens Hockey, when we were 2-1 up.
Have now discovered that not only does excessive flatulance effect the LRJ's power but they only work when owner is conscious state. No power at all when in a slumberous state.
