Yes. Some of the bars in the stadium sell cans. Based on last year, if you are in the Tahs supporters bay, the closest place to buy beer was a little can bar.

What do people make of Jake's comments about Waratahs 'new expansive play'? Accurate comments or just mind games in the lead up to the game? Or a bit of both:

"That's the perception out of what's been out in the media," White said. "The reality is they have five forwards on the bench. It doesn't send a message they are going to be playing running rugby all night does it?"

"If you look at the stats, they have kicked as much last week as they did last year and four props in their 22. It doesn't tell you they are thinking of running from everywhere."

"It's all relative," White said. " I'm not being critical but have they changed? Yes, they've changed compared to what they did last year. Does that mean they are now expansive?

"If you compare them with every other team in the competition, then no. They are probably as conservative as they were."

Stubbie coolers required all year round in Canberra!

Can beers are much better - colder, no spillage on the way back to your seat, quicker lines, no need to fork out 80c for a tray. Should have them everywhere.

In Sydney they think that anything not in a plastic cup will be used as a weapon. At most sports, they're probably right. I would say they could sell cans of beer at Tahs games with no issues. I have never witnessed any violent behaviour at a Waratahs game nor anything that really required police intervention.

You could hand out actual knives and batons at a Tahs game and it still wouldn't get anyone out of their seats.

Totally agree, and there is no danger of cans being watered down

I doubt the tahs will have the personnel to go with the brums in this one, although I'm expecting improvement from them. To come close they'll have to kick all their goals, last season lealiifano was on fire early and it kept the brums in touch against "better" teams, the tahs need that now.

Do you reckon the last two brumbies to go to the tahs would get a start in the current pony team? (AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) and Hooper)

AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) definitely would. He'd be playing 13 ahead of Smith.

Hooper would be on the bench but I also don't think the Brumbies would have signed Pocock if Hooper hadn't left. Considering they're the two Wallabies 7s, it's hardly a slight on Hooper saying he'd be behind Pocock.

In fairness the Brumbies aren't really set up to blow teams away, whilst I think the Brumbies will sneak it, I don't think they've got the attacking ability through the pack or the backs to win by that big a margin. One which you'd assume required 4+ tries.

I am looking forward to the scrum battle - in particular Palmer vs Robinson. Australia's best scrummaging LHP vs best scrummaging THP. If Timani plays LHL then I think its advantage Tahs, if he doesn't then its pretty even.
