The game as usual was won in the forwards.

And the series was determined by two kicks on the siren that missed.

Could have been 3-0 to the Lions, or 2-1 to the Men in Gold.

Thanks for coming Lions and Supporters. I hope you have enjoyed it as much as we have. See you in 12 years.

Congratulations Warren.

Balls like an elephant and a proven winner.

You were right, everyone else was very very very wrong.
In terms of the result yes but he has damaged the Lions brand IMHO which suits me. Plenty of welsh crowing will help immeasurably as well Cardiffblue!?!? Enjoy your win though ye lions fans, enjoy your win. Especially the Irish diaspora, hopefully the green monkeys can come down and win the series for you next summer, maybe I might start saving me pennies!!!

Stand up Conor Murray and take a bow! Played the game I thought was in him. took him to show what Jaw can do if you give him a decent pass.

SoB awesome at cementball.

Sexton needs some tackling practice.

Hope Cuthbert was watching Tommy Bowe closely

Wonder if Corbieso qualifies as Welsh now he's played a game for us

Why the hell did the Australians not take the penalties on offer. Their belief that the defence would crack bordered on arrogance or stupidty. they let the Lions get too far ahead.

Was neutral, although watching through my fingers with my teeth grinding anytime POC or Conor Murray were playing. Thank feck it is all over but jebus we are going to have the mother and father of jobs keeping hold of Conor Murray after that display, he came on and altered the whole tempo of the game. Thanks Fecking Lions?!?!
Strangely sane on gwlad. Most just waiting for abject apologies from all those who doubted especially Ian monkeyfelcher Robertson.

Not all those penalties in the first half were in great kicking positions for a team without Halfpenny. We were beating you for line breaks and despite even possession at half time, you had nearly twice the rucks we did because you were going nowhere quickly.

And Horwill was justified in his decisions when we got within three early on the second half. We had all the momentum and your attack was doing nothing until you got Murray on and went wide, and we collapsed. The Lions fans in front of me certainly went quiet with 35 to go. They weren't talking about many kicks we'd turned down, that's for sure :)

And it fit with our philosophy of trying to keep the game moving.

On another topic: for all the talk of Roberts boshing it up, his best moves last night were subtlety of angle.

Absolutely gutted. But good on the Lions they played great rugby.

Some things for me to rant about:
Kurtley Beale - is it just me or is he just an extremely bad decision maker, way too erratic for Test Rugby. I honestly think he is the most over-rated player in Aus Rugby. He had a good season a few years ago when some lucky low-percentage plays came off. Now that they are not coming off he's terrible. Consistently crabbing, making mistakes, kicking poorly. He is good under broken play, anything else he is below average.

JOC (James O'Connor) - not a 10. Don't need to be repeating this. However I do think he is a proven Test player. His error rate is low, he just lacks the ability to control a whole back-line. He deserves a spot in the starting team just not at 10.

Ben Alexander - How on earth did he reach 50 Test caps, just shows the lack of depth for Props in Aus Rugby. A strong scrummager is sorely missed in Australian Rugby.

Pocock - we miss him

On a positive note:
Falou: One of the world's best in the first season of Test Rugby. If we had Falou and Digby on the wings that would be 2 of the worlds best. Amazing.

Lealifano: A player with a cool head. Perfect for Test rugby. I think his best position is actually at 10.

Mowen: Looked at home in Green & Gold.

Higgers: His aggression was also sorely missed. Hopefully he return's to the Test arena in the same form he was playing at super xv this season.

Dean: Goodbye dingo! White is the best man for the job now. A proven Test winning coach. However Mckenzie should still get in the gig as its about time we have an aussie coach.

I believe its only up-hill for the wallabies from here.

I dont know if he's the most overrated player but his cross field running is a frigging nightmare.

Despite the loss , Genia was brilliant most of the night. Well done to the Lions but how on earth did they get to 41 . The Wallabies seemed tentative early and became more so after giving a few penalties and the early try. At 19 - 3 the wallabies finally started to work their patterns but great defence and hard work at the breakdown by the Lions built their win imo.
A great series for Rugby.
Still the 41 is hard to swallow.

Agreed. Forgot to mention his missed tackles are just embarrassing. He looks like a little school girl on some of those attempts. Its clear he naturally wants to avoid contact. Similar to QC (Quade Cooper). This is why I rate JOC (James O'Connor) over them, JOC (James O'Connor) may be small but at least he gets in there and puts his body on the line.

Go to jail. Do not pass go. Do not collect anything except an uppercut.

From the first five seconds of the match, he was as bad as I've ever seen him play. Dropped ball. Passes behind the man. Kicks not finding touch. Poor communication on defense -which wasn't all his fault, but he's meant to be the backline general.

Bit harsh. It was a mixed performance from Genia. His first 2 games were very very good. He needs to learn to box kick. But still the best half-back in the world imo.

I generally agree - except for the kickoff: surely he was telling Douglas to take it? He sure had a dirty look on his face at the ensuing scrum - mind you Douglas did not seem to be apologising.
Golden rule: player coming forward takes kick - unless its a halfback at the kickoff, surely.

S true, Jaw is a much more subtle player than he's given credit for. Just needs service, which Murray provided.

Still on this kicking thing, and I understand the ethos bit, but I really think that given the start we got, it was more important for Australia to keep in touch. Nothing worse than feeling the other team slipping away three points at a time. I know not every team has a kicker like Shove but..

He created most of the chances also. He should not have to be doing the 10s job such as organising a backline in attack and defence with his head in a ruck. Biggest criticism was he slowed the ball down looking for a penalty a few times.

Three tests and the most inventive move the Wallabies managed was the 10 wraparound which they used at every chance. If it was not for individual efforts again they would not have scored one try. The team has generally improved there intensity but has never been so one dimensional in attack.

Man coming forwards takes precedence over man retreating - basic rugby

If you hear a bloke behind you call, you let him have it. Genia knows that. Douglas knows that. Genia can spout all the sulky Quade-face he likes, but he called for it, and dropped it.

Still the best halfback in the world overall, but only the second best halfback on the night - because Phillips was so utterly, utterly pants.
