For those who were out at Ballymore yesterday, I think the three new Reds signings showed why they got their spots.

Kerevi & Kuridrani were strong for GPS, but it was JJ Taulagi who was brilliant for University.

With Morahan & Lance gone, I think we have the talent in Taulagi and Aiden Toua to find our long-term 15. It is just a matter of finding their feet early, and staying injury free.

So Taulagi is confirmed for 2014?

Also is Kuridrani the brother of Nemani Nadalo?

Tevita and kris are cousins. Kris played school boy and colts footy under another name I am pretty sure. Also spent time in bronco under 20's set up

Yes they are brothers. Nems changed his name to his mothers around the time he returned from a season in Perth.

Yes I thought he used to play under the name Kris Nasiganiyavi, which is also the surname Nemani Nadalo used to carry..

Why do Fijians change their names so often?

I saw this happening on the force thread so I thought I would do it for the reds.
Out of the 30 man squad for 2013 we have definitely lost 4 players:
Radike Samo
Luke Morahan
Digby Ioane
Jono Lance

and possible another 4 due to possible contract expiring:
Adam Wallace-Harrison?
Beau Robinson?
Dave McDuling?
Jono Owen ?

Out of our EPS we have definitely lost:
Jarrad Butler
Kevin Davis

With question marks over the other 3 (Enever, Ah Wong & Seuteni)
Confirmed signings for next year are:
Samuella Kerevi
Jaime Taulagi
Curtis Browning
Rumoured signings
Kris Kuridrani

so we are dealing with a potential squad of 23-27 out of those number's there are a lot of variables. I don't think Ah Wong will be re-signed but I think Seuteni and Enever will be, I imagine Big Ed is in the mix for a 1 year extension as well.

There are also rumours circling about Varesa MAitalini from norths & numerous others training with the reds, so all in all an interesting off season ahead. In my eyes however we need to bolster the tight five & get Tom Murday and some other young guns in.

I'm actually not as worried about our outside backs situation was I was about 2 months ago. Having seen Taulagi, Kuridrani and Kerevi play, and Aiden Toua tear up in the Premier comp, I think we do have some good options back there. It's just that it will take them a while to adapt.

Curtis Browning will be a regular in the 22 next year, it's just a shame we couldn't keep Jarrad Butler, because we would of had some good depth at 6/8.

I'm actually quite optimistic about how we will progress next year. It will be definitely somewhat a re-vamping (not rebuilding), with lots of young local players coming through, but they all have the talent to be quite good.

There seems to be a a good balance of explosivenes and guile in the back line.

I am more worried about the forwards though i am not feeling any level of X-factor, which is okay to an extent. But I think Fotu Aulua/Lopeti Timani esque player to come off the bench is missing. But maybe browning can take his ball running style through from prems to super rugby.

Edit: Or an older, wiser and bulkier Quirk

AWH has retired from rugby.
Nigel Ah-Wong has moved to Japan to play for Coke

With the new scrummaging rules you will need locks that can push so that rules out Murday. I hear his knees are not the best too.
Anyway he was played over the top off by a fair few other Locks.

I think the new laws are pretty much the same for locks. Front row body position is much more critical
