Woodies have just missed far too many tackles on defence. Something like 26 missed to 5 missed by Uni. Bloody hard to win a game if you aren't putting the other fellows on the dirt.

Thankfully Eastwood and Eastern Suburbs have prevented a whitewash - only just in both games. Something about 3's and the letters EAST - definite gap in the Uni curriculum!

As the carnage continues with the inevitable win by the 6th Australian Soup team Papworth's comment after Jeloudev's try that he was an Eastwood junior says it all. Uni are a great side - too too good but they are bad for Shute Shield . If other clubs are not allowed to pay players next year and Soup players are unavailable club rugby as we know it in Sydney will wither , the elites and rival codes will flourish and at what continuing cost to Australian rugby
