My missus said to me today as I started to pack for my four day weekend of rugby, "Is that trip away this weekend? I haven't seen anything about the game on TV."

And that to me is the crux of this issue. A total blackout with regard to advertising. How can they expect to get new fans to the games without marketing.

To paraphrase John Belushi from Blue Brothers "you have to prepare the proper exploitation."

Yep play fast but controlled rugby, force the French to give up penalties and take the points. Frustrate French with relentless defence. French then get disillusioned, start dreaming about how much better the food, wine, women and songs are back home and then we lay the razzle dazzle on em.

Just a vaguely relevant aside: Reds' fans may well remember Freddie M's carving up performance at 10 vs the Reds in the S15 QF vs Sharks @ Suncorp on 21 July 2012. Freddie Converted 3/3, kicked 2/2 penalties and 1/1 drop goals plus steered the then Sharks around very well indeed.......the final loss to the Reds that night was 17-30.

What the fuck goes through PSA's head that he continues to persist with Michalak.

Other than that, scrummaging will be a major focus. That backrow, too, looks full of dynamism in attack. Not sure of le Roux and Chouly but I expect they will endeavour to disrupt our breakdowns like they did in 2012.

Since there's more French in Bondi these days than Brits of all persuasions, I reckon the SFS crowd should shape up nicely.

I've been giving that some thought. If it were me, the instructions would be:

1, Smash 'em early. Never, ever, give the Frogs an early leg up because once they start playing well they are next to impossible to stop.

2, Get up in their faces on defence and suffocate them. Line speed will be key. You want to exert so much pressure on their ball that they start to lose their rag a bit. Once you get a French team arguing with each other they're yours.

3, Nothing fancy in the first quarter of the game. Play good field position, win your set pieces and make your tackles.

4, Run that big French pack around. Make them defend a lot and get them blowing hard.

5, Keep the score board ticking over. Take all the points on offer and give them nothing easily.

6, Test their 10/12 channel by running plenty of big bodies at pace through there. Foley should be using the inside ball a lot and have the likes of Cliffy, Carter, Moore and Fardy rumbling up the guts.

Sounds like a plan. I'll maybe add - get the ball to Folau with some space as much as possible

don't know much about the french players guys. How do they match up against our 23? strengths and weaknesses in that team?

I would have thought Dusatoir would be captain.

seriously, the idea that QLD aren't going because Genia wasn't chosen to such dribble. The team was announced at midday yesterday, the tickets have been on sale for several weeks. It defies logic

Not to mention most of those pointing fingers come from areas which have far worse attended test matches. Bloody hypocrites!
