Gotta remember Horne never actually defends on the wing, he wouldn't be great under the high ball and can't kick.

Turner your kidding his struggling to get a gig at the Reds. English, Coleman, Horne, McCabe, Dom, Crawford ..

He's only struggled because of injury, the rebels game was the first that he played that he didn't start and that was likely because of time spent injured.

Crawford's barely played this season and done very little when there, Horne and McCabe are above Turner though they're not as quick and potentially best used off the bench because of the cover they offer. English and Coleman are worth looking at but with no test experience it would be a gamble to start either against the AB's or Boks, particularly English. If by Dom you mean Shipperly he's out until early next season and with an injury like that there'll have to be questions over how long it'll take him to regain form.

It would be nice to have some out and out wingers rather than utility players for the starting wing positions.
I guess Horne is becoming a winger full time now. Speight and Tomane would be nice to have around.
The Boks and ABs have some serious toe on the wing and we need to match them.

If we are looking at regurgitating yesterday's players (Lachie Turner) a far better bet would be Rathbone. He's injury prone, but not as much as Turner, and is playing far better football atm. Shame he's pulling the plug again at the end of the year.

Just because his family is doing it tough doesn't mean he's doing anything more noble than others. Most players going overseas at his age are doing it for their families..

How is this relevent in any way, shape or form? It's not a bloody contest.

I agree with not picking Badger, but we will miss him,

He is the form winger in Australia. I'd even say over Speight, who has had an interrupted season due to injury.

He's been consistent, but I wouldn't say he's been the form winger..........

There were a number of people (certainly not me) who claimed that his Super Rugby form wasn't good enough to retain his Wallaby jersey before the French series...........

I def questioned his place in the wallabies 23 early in the season. cummins defensively has improved out of sight during the course of the season as far as making his tackles stick and positioning. nobody can question his work rate and upside in defense now.
When he does see any ball in attack he is a competent finisher or else makes good metres in contact due to his size.

Age 27 versus age 32. It's a fair difference. Not that I think Turner is on the verge of another call up, but at least he's played more than two games this season. He'd be waaay ahead of Rattlebones.

Phipps' form at the moment is hard to ignore. I was never a big fan but he was brilliant tonight for the tahs. He is reportedly the fittest player in Aus rugby and it shows late in the game.

What do you mean hard to ignore? He's already the backup halfback. Surely you don't mean he should start?

I mean I dont think that White is a lock in starter and plenty are calling for Genia return. If he continues in this vein for the remainder of the super rugby Id be starting him yes. At the moment its a case of him throwing the gauntlet down (ergo hard to ignore that)

Were was it reported? He was good tonight but his still don't think his the starting for wallabies but if White slips then his the next cab off the rank.

I don't think there's really anything wrong with picking players to counter the opposition, especially when it's the most potent winger in the game in Savea. Look at England in their 2nd Test, put Tuilagi opposite him to counter him and it worked, kept him pretty quiet and then when Ashton was defending him in the 3rd it was a blood bath. Horne could be a Savea killer, look at that contact he put on Fekitoa at one stage that rattled the ball free, those kind of hits win you Tests.

Yeh I thought Horne was good on the weekend. Still not sure whether I'd want him starting on the wing, but it's an option to consider I guess. I'd probably prefer Tomane, but I really don't know how solid he is in defence. anybody?

AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) could do a good job containing Savea

He has been solid in defence in super xv. But I also recall him having a poor game in defence for the wallabies where he was caught out of position a few times. However he improved in his following game (against the French I think) and was also superb on attack. I don't think defensive issues are a problem at all.

Big Bad Benny on his 30th... I think he'll be watching the Wallabies with the rest of us from here on in, past his best.
