TA has been more than inconvenient for Australia.

Australia used to be the land of the "fair go", but not these days.

Inconvenient truths about Tony Abbott

From the comments:-

This is definitely the worst gov that auss has ever had the way i see it.......
Imagine what would happen if they had control of the senate as well as control of the lower house.
They have just cut around 80 billion out of health and education etc(with the help of labor and greens who passed the appropriation bill in the senate)...and increased the military budget.......they want to charge 7 bucks for every single healthcare consult(gp, bloods, xrays etc)....they want to privatise unis and increase charges on uni debt, and are forcing states to privatise, by restricting the states sovereign fed money, unless they agree to privatise as much public assets as possible(joe had a go at barnett in WA over not privatising enough)......they are privatising medibank, and the sovereign money printing mint(probably to us bank-buddies)......they want to cut the old age pension, disability pension(cut indexation), and take the dole off the under 30s for months, leaving them with no dosh for survival........there would have been a gaint crash in my opinion if this gov had managed to achieve all this if they had control of the senate......and it is obvious i feel that this is a deliberate tactic by this gov to allow their multi-national masters to buy up the crashed auss for a song.....they grumble whinge and moan about the senate not allowing their assault on aussies way of life........after they lied to get themselves in power.....they appear to have greed-fever, and don't even bother to hide it....fundraising at tax-payers expense etc(i'm still wondering why a gov that is meant to be in power to represent the country is 'fundraising'?).............and............we......now have sanctions against russia reducing our trade...and this is the worst gov in history in my opinion.... rudd is an angel compared to this mob i feel...

Agreed. Skimmed the article mostly, but some of Shorten's stuff prove he's back to where Laboring should be: talking about what is better for people overall, not just how they can be bought off for votes.

ICAC: Suppression order on Peta Credlin, Paul Nicolaou emails lifted; O'Farrell, Sinodinos to appear
http://www.abc.net.au/news/2014-09-...er-on-peta-credlin-emails-tony-abbott/5727202

The ICAC has shown that nobody from either major party can be trusted, right to the office of the PM. They are people without ethics or honour.

It is the great shame of Australia that there can only be two choices of PM, a man complicit in assisting Slipper and Thompson to remain in parliament despite the evidence against them tarnishing what little credibility remained in house, or an arch conservative (read right wing) man who thinks selling access to government ministers is no big deal and really is an issue of the law being restrictive. FFS we are screwed. I am seriously thinking of campaigning at the next election, not for office but purely in the mode of the Richard Prior movie Brewster' Millions, none of the above.

I know this is a politically motivated page by the ALP but crikey that is a large wrap sheet from our dear PM.

Check it out and decide for yourself.

What does it matter, we knew they everything he was saying were lies as he was saying them and he and the Liberals/Nationals never had any intention of keeping to anything they said.

Is Labour any better? After their efforts in Government last time around, they cannot say they are.

Does Pyne actual think anybody believes a word he says?

When we consider this in the light of everything else happening with Union Corruption, Liberals selling access to ministers, Labour buying then approving coal mines, etc it really paints a lovely picture of the ethics and morals of those at the top of the tree in Australian Politics. Lets not think however that it is only the public faces you see which are responsible, there are a lot of staffers and public servants who know what is going on but choose to remain mute. IMO they are just as cupable, but the truly horrifying thing to consider is, if the head piece gets sacked one of those staffers etc will be anointed (preselected) to take over and continue the flow of goodies into the trough.

That Ashby guy is just as big a snake - what kind of slimy ***t goes to the opposition when he's suffering what is clearly a working conditions issue. Mrs Pfitzy was watching 60 Minutes in bed and I heard what he said.

If someone like Slipper was doing that to me, I'd record everything and go straight to HR to take him for every cent. Ashby going to Pyne shows just how political his whole motive was once he realised he could find no advantage rorting Slipper.

The thing I don't get about the entire super thing is that the more super people have the less money the government would have to fork out in pensions. So why is the liberal party so against raising super contributions. It's going to cost us a shit load of money in the future.

It hits revenue now though based on that income being taxed at marginal tax rates vs 15% in the super fund.
