reports from Gee Rob that the Glasgow contract does have a get out if he's capped.

Still not sure he deserves one this year, but I agree he's a potential Nadolo (ie come back to hurt us in 3 years time). I say we go down the ABs route and lock him in. let him play the boks and the argies (maybe the US). If he holds his own he might be a handy RWC squad member. It's not like we haven't thrown around caps before *cough*norton-knight*couch*

After three years at Glasgow, I understand he will be eligible to play for Scotland. Will be interesting to see the comments and probably howls of anger if he turns out to be the equal of or better than Naholo and is suited up for the Scots.

And despite some apparent views here, he won't be eligible to play for the Wallabies in that three year period under the relaxed overseas player criterion.

Message from the Warriors suggests he's coming no matter what. Some of Townsends quotes suggest that they think he might not be joining them until October, potentially joining Fiji or the Wallabies for the RWC.

Townsend wouldn't give a shit anyway. He's recruited, developed and retained a buttload of Scottish eligible players, so is much less obliged to recruit in the best interests of Scotland, and instead in the best interests of Glasgow.

Good point. Would he be picked for Fiji? They generally have bucketloads of wingers, but I can't speak to their current squad depth.

Nadolo played 12 in their recent test matches did he not? At least the most recent he played.

Chieka has said that if he caps Big T just to keep him then he shouldn't be the coach of the Wallabies. I'd be nervous about WorldRugby recently saying they will look to extend the required residence period from 3 to 5 years. If TN had committed himself to Scotland he might not have been able to play test rugby until he was 29 and after missing 2 world cups. My guess is if he doesn't play for Aus he will play for Fiji.

it sounds more like a precautionary measure..he doesn't have any symptoms but Cheika wants to get him 'fully right' so is leaving him out of the next game and the SAF tour..

That may be true, but I fear that TPN's history may well make him a risk for the tournament. If he's seen as likely to need replacing, they may prefer to not take him in the first place.

There was some weird statistic a few years back where he had never played passed the 42 min against the Brumbies.. He Although then played 80 that game, but wasn't he off in the first 4 mins against them in Canberra again ?

I Think you have to be really careful with TPN

I know the Wallabies are currently sitting 6 in the world rankings and the Scots have touched us up twice recently, but over a long term trend if the Wallabies can't beat Scotland's best + Taquele Naiyarvoro then we have bigger problems.

One player can be overcome. Let them have him and after he hasn't seen a proper summer in a few years see if he still wants to be Scottish.

I think whoever is advising him has stuffed up only looking at the dollars.

It's not about preventing him to play for Scotland, it's about him not being available for the Wallabies next year or in 2 years when he's the most damaging winger going around.
