Cooper at 10 is a good move in my books. We need to know where he's at and if he can find form on the big stage. To'omua outside him is a good safety net but I'm not sure I'd be going with White just yet.

More interesting will be the crowd reaction to Quade in Wallaby gold. I hope they are more respectful than they have been in past years, especially considering it could be his last test on NZ soil before he heads O/S.

Yeah this match will be an important gauge of whether QC (Quade Cooper) will play a starting role at the RWC or not.. It's sink or swim for him IMO.

NZ crowd will no doubt boo their asses off and sledge him all night long, but if he proves he has the mental edge to perform in a cauldron like Eden Park in a Bledisloe decider then that's enough evidence he has the maturity to play 5/8 through the RWC.

Even though Phipps may still be edging ahead of White to be the starting #9, I would prefer to see White paired with Cooper if we are going to see QC (Quade Cooper) start. I rate his passing (length and accuracy) a good deal more than Phipps. All I hope is that White keeps a lid on his emotions and doesn't try to over play it. His long range kicking may well come in handy (even the threat of us being able to take some long range shots) may well help to keep the AB's a little more honest.

I think Cheika is going to won't some big boppers out there early to take the big hits that are coming our way, and to dish it right back at them. They are going to start hard and fast...would hate to in Poey's position right now :eek:

You'd think Skelton , Palu, Pocock (or Hooper) must weaken our line out too much to be on the field at the same time

A lot of pressure on Fardy and Horwill to improve the line out, Skelton needs to step up big time for this match.

I can understand the reconfig of the pack, and the strategy of finishing with Pocock/Hooper (I'm refusing to use 'Pooper' anymore!).

The only risk in the starting XV is Speight, but Drew was solid without being exceptional so I don't really think it's a risk at all, it's worth testing him at the highest level. I'm guessing Douglas will get a cameo to see if he has what it takes to get a berth to England - I guess Cheika thinks that finding out that is more important than the risk of White going down.

Some ballsy changes by Cheika.....definitely has his eye probably both eyes for that matter on the world cup with so many changes. Particularly with Kane on the bench and two jumpers....ok go Skelton better start learning how to jump, better late than never. Cooper huge huge call as well.

Go the wallabies!

You bet. Highly surprising set of selection calls. Palu has never really threatened the ABs, Gits as b/up 9, Poey not starting when this has been key, QC (Quade Cooper) starting where he'll be endlessly booed and no doubt nerve-racked, etc etc....looks to me more like a rotational team to play the USA than one to win a BC at EP.

Have the coaches deep down decided that these particular rotational benefits in a tough Test match pre RWC are a better reward in a holistic win-the-RWC build-up plan premised on an inner acceptance by the coaches that we are highly unlikely to win at EP whatever the squad?
