I am so fucking annoyed over this. Screw you Reds board I am out and so are my 4 memberships. I will not be a member if the vast majority of the membership are not listened to and considered white noise.

NB: there is precisely zero new blood being brought into the QRU at a senior level to fix the vast debacles of 2014-15.

It is just office moves down the same corridors.

The insularity, self-deceit and implied arrogance are beyond breathtaking.

Excuse my memory but did Gill get re-signed? If not I hope he goes to Melbourne and gets away from this shit. No player deserves to have to be forced in the middle of this

As angry as I am right now, I feel compelled to just say, be careful who you all get stuck into over this. The team in the membership hotline are a top bunch of people who are just turning their little cog in the very big machine. It's not their doing and I would probably bet that they are probably just as pissed at the decision as we all are as they would know full well, what is about to come at them.

+ btw: IIRC the last time RG moved to do Defence Coach-ing as well as HC - as he will again here for 2016 - defence improved somewhat but everything else went to shit.

I thought I'd prepared myself for this announcement after the weeks of comments on this forum. Unfortunately not, but at least I won't be driving 6+ hours to go to games for some time. One negative I feel that'll be overlooked is that the (little) money used for country development will end up being cut again as the lack of patrons at Suncorp bites QRU's income deeply (again).

I prepared myself for this announcement, but I am still stunned by the complete inability of the board to recognise the inherent shortcomings of Richard Graham's coaching ability. If he had a single poor season then I can understand how the board could countenance such a move, but he has had multiple seasons across different states. His contract had ended surely it would have been the perfect time to let him go or to promote an assistant in an acting role.

Truly disgusted by their actions and my inability to initiate a spill of the board, which frankly given this result needs to occur.

Now I just need to find another team to support and its either the Force or the Rebels...

I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Maybe the decision to retain Graham was that there are rumours that Michael Foley will be sacked by the Force (haven't heard any myself - just putting on my tinfoil hat) and John Connelly wanted to have the position ready to be vacated so his good mate could slip straight into the role?

If anyone went for the monthly payment option on their memberships, you might want to make sure that you don't get caught out by the "automatic renewal" that's due to happen on the 15th of September, 2015.

I'm going to try login now and turn that off.

Have to admit I deleted out some pretty offensive paragraphs before I hit send. Just kept it too polite basics.

Same for the Rebels. Seems to be a standard feature across the board for the franchises that now use the Salesforce platform (ARU managed) for membership management. Unlike a lot of Reds fans, I contacted the Rebels to make sure I was registered for auto renewal.

I really feel for you blokes up north; I don't believe RG is the man to guide the Reds through next year. I can only hope the pain is temporary.

Richard Graham and the Damage Done
I caught him knocking at the board-room door,
Hey Jim, can I coach for one more?
Oh, no, the damage done.

Players left because he was so bad,
His reappointment leaves us feeling like we’ve all been had.
Oh, no, the damage done.

Herbie’s been appointed to help fix the mess,
After round four he’ll be in deep distress.
Oh, no, the damage done.

I’ve seen Richard Graham and the damage done,
The QRU has nothing but contempt for everyone,
And now rugby in Queensland’s like a settin’ sun.

I hope it is not like what happened at the 'tahs where even a super title hasn't been enough to persuade many of the former rusted-ons to return to the franchise. Can anyone enlighten me as to how the board of the QRU selected / voted in? Who has the power? It would be interesting as their appears to be a major need for an overhaul of that process as well.

Dear @RugbyReg,

Get something up on the Blog front page ASAP. If the announcement of the reappointment of RG doesn't increase traffic to the blog, then the announcement of the outbreak of WW3 probably won't either.
