I think it is on the basis of the preferred substitutions rather than providing the most/best coverage in case of injury.

It's hard to know whether Fardy or Mumm is the reserve number 8. I'd guess Mumm. Skelton is another potential there but I would bet against that.

I would say it's Fardy. He has moved to 8 on occasion for the Brums. It may even be the plan to do so and spell one of Hooper or Pocock at some point. Then we have a very strong lineout.

Agree, as then Skelton can come on for Douglas when Fardy has moved to 8 with no weakening of the lineout.

You're switching from the Southern Hemisphere dates to the Northern Hemisphere ones.

The first match of the tournament was on Friday 18 September. This match is on Wednesday 23 September. That's 5 days.

I've been reading a lot in the media and from various rugby folk that the Wallabies will be happy just winning this game.

To me that's rubbish. We're playing our best XV, we're coming off a TRC having beaten all comers, against a poorer team on a short turnaround who are resting players and are coming down from an emotional high of opening the tournament at the home of rugby and just lost to our main competitors by 24.

I'll be disappointed if we don't get the bonus point and I think, realistically, we should be bettering the bookies line (24.5 points).

I agree. And I think the Wallabies will be going out there to make a statement, not just to win. It's the usual media pusillanimy, talking down our chances, talking up the opposition. Then, if we do win well, they'll crow like they did it.
