Well, no.

But if Godwin is fit, Rosalea doesn't start. And neither does Brache if DHP, Morahan and the other boy (Matesewira?) Are too. Which would leave them to battle out for bench spot that Grant doesn't take.

I would pick our backs over the rebels backs.

This is a Force thread, so I'm not going to get into deep debate. Wingers are 6 of one, so I'm not gonna pick them, but I give you guys a 3-2 lead otherwise (Stirzaker over Mattheson, Lance over Debreczeni, Godwin over Inman, Ellison over Tapuai and DHP over Harris). I do however think that if you were combining the Force and the Rebels into a single 35 man squad, you'd find there'd be more of the Southern backs than the Western ones.

I would. Agree with that other then stirzsker because I have sent him play for some time.

Shiggins, the question of best players is really asking 3 questions.

1) Putting the 2 best 23s head to head, and which side has more one on one winners
2) With free reign over the combined player pool of 70-80 players, which team would have more players in that best 23.
3) In forming a squad, 35-37 strong, from the combined player pool of 70-80, which team would have more players.

I think it's an interesting question, and would be happy to continue debating and discussing. But due to my habit of derailing threads, and the fact that I'm on away ground, so to speak, not here. If you'd like to continue, creating a new thread on the Main forum, then PMing me the link would be the best way to do it IMO.

The only players from the Force who'd make the Rebels 23 are Coleman, McCalman, Lance and DHP.
And Hodgson. And I'm secretly torn about Hodgson as a Force fan. He plays above himself every week, but also quietly embodies what is wrong at the Force.

Godwin has done nothing special for two years. This is his year to either make it or break it.

The Force can't be treated as a holding ground for promising players just to have them plucked away by other OZ teams when they have 20 to 30 Super Rugby caps experience and other teams benefit from getting them in their prime years. We need to hold the best of our young talent and have them coached the f@rk up to be world beaters. Thats not happening at the moment.

We aren't going to get anywhere until the ARU pull their finger out of their collective a-hole and give us a level playing field.

I bet 95 percent of people in the world rather live in Perth then Canberra.. So what is the issue your having that the ARU need to fix ?

Maybe not quite right. Canberra to Sydney is only a 3, 3 and a half hour drive away, and flights are less than an hour.

Whereas a flight from Perth to Sydney takes 4 and a bit hours already.

I'm not arguing that as a socially vibrant early 20s something, Perth wouldn't be more appealing to a player. But for someone from Sydney, and doesn't really want to leave, Canberra is probably the 2nd best thing to a Tahs contract.
