1st Colts Randwick 17 Gordon 34

Good results for Gordon considering they had a man red carded in 1sts and 2nds before half time in each game. Heaps of yellow cards for minor indiscretions in 1sts.

Care to elaborate on the red cards?

Impressive trial form from the Woodies to win 3/3.

Uni won all 3 GF's last year. While a swag of their 2015 colties will not be colts eligible this season, I reckon that the Woodies are in the same situation & we will see some good 2015 Colts graduates performing well in Grade this year from both clubs, but only the Woodies Colts 1's made the Finals series last season suggesting that there may be depth issues at TG Milner.

Snip

The Woodies may indeed surprise, but in the absence of team lists, you have to take a bit of a punt on depth and performance from 2015 being evident in the 2016 opening round.

Do you have some news for us about some special talent in the Woodies programme this year @Seymour Butz?

3rd Colts Eastwood 24 Beasts 12
2nd Colts Beasts 23 Woodies 6
1st Colts Woodies 31 Beasts 17

Well, no specific rock stars as far as I'm aware, just some good home grown talent as is usual for the Woods. Most from local schools like Marist, EBHS, Oakhill, etc. Eastwood are very much about good team work, hard training, good coaching and mateship, in my experience, and rarely talk about individual "special talent" as many clubs seem to. A bit old fashioned, I know, but they love their footy and have a great 'club' atmosphere out there at TG Milner.

Not in the same boat as the Corporation re loosing eligible boys this year from colts to grade. Most of the boys in all Woods colts grades last year were a year or two young, and most have stayed on, so this year colts 1s at least are the right age. Probably accounts for some of the improved competitiveness in the first two rounds.

No depth issues - with most staying on, and new recruits joining, they had enough boys for 5-6 colts teams in the trials, and are looking to 'give' some of the overflow away to feeder clubs / local subbies teams like Beecroft for the season.

Good results last week, better results this week. They looked good out at the Vineyard today. Looking good for the Woods this season.

^^^ They (SRU/NSW RU) don't seem to have settled down into the routine of things out this year yet and the Team lists aren't being published early. They are still in Season 2015 mode in that regard.

After the weekend, to see who played, scored etc go to this page, and click on the little thingy just to the left of the Home Team to see the Team detail. The example is for Colts 1 competition.

Some clubs have yet to fall into the routine for submitting detailed team sheets for this season as well.

Many Thanks

With the NSW Gen Blue U20's now out of the running for the Final, it will be interesting to see how the clubs deal with the balance of the Class of 2015 State and National players who were in the state U20s, especially those who haven't been seen in Coltland yet.

A couple of clubs are sailing very close to the wind with respect to Player Points based on team sheets submitted so far. A couple of 6 point players rocking up in round 3 may tip them over the limit.

So far the information submitted for Gordon Colts is completely inaccurate and does not reflect who played. It will be interesting to see who gets attributed the tries. Not much point in doing this if the information entered is rubbish. Perhaps it will be corrected in the next week.

Agreed - the supposed team lists for the rd 2 matches against Randwick on the Gordon website seem more akin to the line ups for the trials against Warringah.

They were the teams that played against Penrith as they just flow through till the next game until the round 2 teams and scorers were updated. The score is still wrong as it was 34-17 in first grade someone can't add three tries and one conversion.

I'm aware of several changes to the Colts teams that played against Penrith. Even if they were intended to be the accurate lists for the Emus clashes, what is the point of your Club's website publishing lists that represent they are the teams for rd 2 when they're not?

Sorry I was talking about the teams on the NSW rugby website where those who actually played are listed. The teams on the Gordon website are those named prior to Tuesday night training. Players drop out due to injury, work commitments and for numerous other reasons. We don't go back and update the website for each team change as many happen as late as the morning of the game.

There were a few cards dished out over the weekend.

These Red Cards were issued:

Colts 1
Wix (1 RC) v Highlanders (1 RC - for 2nd YC)
MMM v M2B (1 RC - for 2nd YC)

Colts 2
Wix (2 RC) v Highlanders (1 RC)
Emus (1 RC - for 2nd YC) v The Corporation

Some games have incomplete player details on the NSWRU Shute Shield website, so there may be more cards.

Was at both I and II games. I don't think any of the Wix boys were red carded HJ. There were a few yellows but I only saw a red issued to a Highlander lad in Colts II and two yellows equals a red to another Highlander in Colts 1.
Maybe cards in the wrong column for the Wix in fusesport ???

Anyways, as mentioned earlier Highlanders will take a lot out of both wins with 14 players for large part of the games.

Bob you might want to check all Colts teams for this round. Most including Randwick are "completely inaccurate" and for one team in particular the tries allocated are rubbish!
