Potentially, but it may also be a better option to give him a bit more off season. Probably pivots on how timani and Houston go and whether or not they see McMahon coming straight back into the 23

Based on last game, what did Mumm execute well that Simmons did not? They had the same flaws, with the exception being that in 45 minutes, Simmons did close to what Mumm did in 80 and has a history of being a much better test line out option and reliable defender. Why not select him at 6 then?

Mumm is in the same scenario as Sharpie used to be. His set piece skills (lineout) keep him in the team. IIRC Sharpie was dropped by Deans at about the time of his 100th cap. Not long after he was made Captain and reinstated in the team.
Your talk about NSW bias is getting very boring but I do agree that Cooper and Foley are not a great combination.
Just to stir the pot I really look forward to Foley and Beale back in their rightful positions.

I never said anything about NSW bias.

I just said that Cheika is blinkered in his view of Mumm.

If you are selecting a player for their line out skills, then surely you select the best set piece forward, Simmons, at lock, rather than Mumm at 6.

That way you can select another back row player at 6. Or you can play Simmons at 6 if you think the best lock is better than the best 6, as he has the pace and work rate of Mumm anyway.

I genuinely believe KB (Kurtley Beale) would've brought the creativity and short kicking game we needed to overcome the Poms earlier this year. He probably would've made the difference in at least the second test. Had we won a couple of those our entire season would have looked completely different. He probably would've made the difference against SA as well. He was in the form of his life before his injury. Funny how these things go.

He'd be the link we are missing between Cooper/Foley and Kerevi. Plus he brings the same enthusiasm Kerevi brings which, in my opinion, is desperately lacking in the Wobs at the moment.

To'omua, too, could have provided that link (less effectively, though). We were on top of the English in the third test till he was removed. A real 12 could've changed so much.

How exciting would this backline be:

10. Cooper/Foley (depending on your state bias) No need for this rubbish
11. DHP
12. KB (Kurtley Beale)
13. Kerevi
14. Naivalu/Koroibete
15. Folau

Timani starts at 8 and Arnold replaces Simmons in the second row as the only changes to the starting side from last week. At least that is what the Roar are reporting. Good changes but a relatively inexperienced back 5.
Will we see a 6-2 bench?

He went off for a concussion test didn't he? but think he passed it and just wasn't brought back on.

Rather than "dropped", I reckon he's been rotated out - having said that I bet Cheika hopes this combo works out. It makes life a lot easier for him

I think in all likelihood this is what he has been building towards, similar to the experimentation last year building up to rwc.

he definitely likes the big bopper locks with some mongrel, ie potgieter, and this is closest to the tahs winning formula.

not sure if that formula will be as effective as it was that season as its a very rock paper scissors approach to tactics.

From the teamlist it looks like Robertson will be the finishing prop changing sides. Interesting because all the talk was that Ala'alatoa would switch. Haven't seen Robertson play LHP in the last 12 months, has he ever?

I always thought Robertson was a LHP at U20 level, but I could be mistaken.
