Sam Cane becomes the fifth Chief to rack up 100 appearances & Charlie Ngatai returns:

Chiefs (15-1): Solomon Alaimalo, Toni Pulu, Anton Lienert-Brown, Johnny Fa'auli, Sean Wainui, Damian McKenzie, Brad Weber, Taleni Seu, Sam Cane (co-c), Liam Messam, Tyler Ardron, Brodie Retallick, Angus Ta'avao, Nathan Harris, Aidan Ross. Reserves (16-23): Liam Polwart, Karl Tu'inukaufe, Jeff Thwaites, Pita Gus Sowakula, Lachlan Boshier, Te Toiroa Tahuriorangi, Marty McKenzie, Charlie Ngatai (co-c).

Not sure I like Alaimalo at 15 but I suppose he can come up into the line & Wainui drop right back or as a sweeper depending on field position.

The Sharks are travelling awfully, have only beaten the Sunwolves, are preparing for the penultimate game on tour so are probably more interested in going home than playing rugby. The Blues, on the other hand, are back home, have had a week off to recuperate after defeating the best South African side while on tour, have the Designated 2018 Messiah returning from injury and Umaga has a great record vs international sides.

It's perfectly setup for a classic Blues performance.

Thus, to save everyone a world of hurt, we might as well give the Sharks a bonus point win now and not bother playing the match. They'll conspire to f*ck it up somehow.

On the other hand, if you're wanting encouragement, just look at the Sharks recent match form. The Blues also haven't lost at home against a South African side since Rd 4 2015 (13-10 vs Lions). Even then, that was in the South African colony on the North Shore. If you're only interested in Eden Park, then you have to go back to Rd 4 2013 (28-21 vs Bulls).

Exactly as Zero wrote 2 stories up. Tip the Blues? Against the Sharks? Fat fucken chance. I will never tip those useless c**ts again. They are beyond salvation. As the ferald suggested, split up the franchise and save everyone the anguish of even knowing the forlorn pathetic clueless moribund arseholes even exist.
My latest shit-for-brains theory is that the Blues catchment area is simply to big for The Blues Talent Development Officer (pictured below) to scour on his own and thus actual rugby players (as opposed to the flat track bully wingers the Blues shoehorn in all over the park after they've torn up at 1st XV level without developing any rugby skillls besides scoot around the outside of the centre) go elsehwere.

I swear if they dissolved the Blues franchise and replaced it with 3 new franchises named Northland, North Harbour and Counties the bastards would probably finish 1,2, and 3 in the comp in their first fucking year go fuck yourselves Blues

I remember that one, in Albany, one of the worst ever, the Lions were total dogshit then too, the Blues probably totally expected to touch them up yet trotted around like burn unit escapees whose pants had suddenly caught fire.

Sam Prattley with a colossal alcoholic fuckup of a penalty at the end to gift the match away.

Lions go on to make 2 of the next 3 finals.
Blues go on to make 2 of the next 3 fucken thalidomide court case hearings.

I read an article the other day that said there's 61 current Super Rugby players who had their final year of high school within the Bloos catchment, 30 of them currently part of the Bloos setup & the rest spread across the other four kiwi franchises. Plus there's possibly (probably ?) others in Japan and/ or Straya.

EDIT: tracked the article down:

Anyhoo I've gone & tipped the cnuts & I've always said you never change a bet so I guess I'm stuck with it.

suspect by now Tana has SCREAMED at the giant drongo "could you please pass the fucking ball to your fucking winger please just fucking once like a centre is fucking well supposed to do. That winger is Rieko Ioane, the world's best winger who I have now inexplicably selected to play at 2nd 5 eighth hahahaha"

Oh well at least we finally get to see Ruru and Perofuture start together

^^^^^ "Perofuture" - you should trademark that.

Re: Duffie this could be the first of his mandatory two weeks off? Haven't seen anything about him being injured.

Yep, Duffie and Tu'ungafasi are having an AB induced week off.

All Blacks Ofa Tuungafasi and Matt Duffie have been given one of their two mandated rest games which allows a first Super start for Jordan Trainor on the right wing and popular North Harbour prop Mike Tamoaieta.

Scrafton is also unavailable due to injury and I have this nagging feeling that I've read/heard he's gone for the season. But Tallhue is supposed to be a decent player, so should have ample chance to prove it in his absence.

Yep gone for the season (ACL).

Trainor was rubbish last year but had an outstanding Brisbane 10s so should be interesting to see how he goes.
