I question whether those subs would have been made if Grammar hadn't been up 40 points.
There is no shortage of backline depth but I'm willing to bet not many of those subs were forwards, but would be happy to be proved wrong.
The games I've seen this season of the Grammar 2nds they've tended to struggle at the set piece, which is strange considering the set piece dominance of the 1sts.
Wynn-Taylor out with an ankle complaint. Harrison is quick granted but needs to work hard on his positioning in defence if he doesn't want to be caught out at the higher level.
Tablets?
First choice winger out for Grammar this weekend, and his replacement IMO would struggle to make the 6ths at most schools. One of the biggest gaps between the normal comp and Grammar, High, Armidale is the lack of depth, and I pray for this boys well-being kings don't spread the ball wide too often.
is anyone aware if Grammar's participation in the 3rds competition effects potential GPS selection? From what I saw today the 6,8,10,11,12 all stand decent chances, as would the seconds 3 and 10.
Like Grammar and James Stratton, Newington and Seb Rees seem to have a similar reliance. Does any one have any info regarding the other members of the Newington side?
worrying signs for Grammar, not sure how the many of the boys from the lower teams will be able to make the adjustment to 1sts/2nds. From what I saw in thirds match they had a few solid individual performers, but I feel any further injuries will be a real test of Grammars depth.
