    Sydney Colts - 2014

I would be interested to know how any of the trials are going across the clubs. Although not a true benchmark of any future performance during the season, it is always good to talk the game of rugby rather than the politics :-)

    ISA Rugby 2012

There is always one last joker in the pack.. Tom Jones above has not quite summarised the whole season of ISA Rugby and overall it was a good season for ISA. Oakhill rightfully gained the crown of undefeated ISA Champions running out convincing winners over all other schools. The biggest...

    ISA Rugby 2012

Got out to the game of the round yesterday Oakhill v Auggies. Having read this thread and judging by ISA and other representative selections Auggies went in favorites and deservedly so. Ok .. That's where reading anything into schoolboy rugby selections and the reputation of the invincible...

    ISA Rugby 2012

My apologies I should be clearer in my intent with that comment.. Augustines will play a forwards game with the offload being the key but they will not take on the backline due to a pretty good defence .... so kick it over their heads shallow or deep and use their pace....

    ISA Rugby 2012

Haha .. the pathway to Nirvana...I think we have all been there and have the knees and back to prove it!!And yes, while slightly tongue in cheek, in todays game a big, fast, ballplayer with a classic front row build has a few salivating on what may be ;) I do agree that the intimidation factor...

Hi Oaks.. I think you should get your Oakhill inside centre to work as a prop. certainly has the build for it :-) I would like to see him move into there at some stage and colts may be his foray into the world of pigs if he plays on.

    ISA Rugby 2012

Well an eventful weekend was had by all.. a draw, a disappointment, a predictable result and a close game ... and then on top of that the announcement of ISA teams ..... I did get to watch the Oakhill v Pats game to see if it would live up to the hype. Unfortunately conditioins were not...

    ISA Rugby 2012

It will be an interesting match Oakhill v Pats this weekend. I did watch the corresponding game last year at Pats and I thought Pats were outclassed that day.. BUT .. a year can make a bit of difference I suppose. In regards to the 12,13,7 and 8 from Oakhill, they were all in last years side and...

    ISA Rugby 2012

It seems as though I have missed a great deal of discussion about many things rugby rather than just the ISA comp. I have heard some interesting results on the weekend across all the teams with some close and not so close matches being played. Maybe now with with the rep selections and...

    ISA Rugby 2012

ILTW - Unfortunately there are only a few people who have an idea of the make up of the sides.. and they are not going to post them here. I do not work on assumptions as you will know these are often proven incorrect. What I do know is that a squad was named and that is not an assumption, it is...

    ISA Rugby 2012

Some excellent discussion amongst everyone here for sure. Well regardless of any team make up, don't forget that this is a squad only. These are not my words and the order of players was as submitted on the forms from the school. In te case of Augfies having a significant amoun of triallists...

    ISA Rugby 2012

Wow .. a flurry of activity on the posts.. good to see. Some great points and some intersting ideas. If only there was some influence amongst those with the good ideas then maybe .. just maybe Rugby across te board would be stronger. My one comment is remember this is schools rugby -the...

    ISA Rugby 2012

Always a tough gig to select a team based on one trial and as has been noted in the past especially when one trialling team is only one school allowing combinations to work better than the mix of Div1 and Div 2 schools. The advantage is selection will lie with the team that all play and train...

    ISA Rugby 2012

Totally agree no9 with the point you are making. I can understand that Augustines, Oakhill and maybe others may send their seconds because in many cases the 2nd XV of the better performing schools would beat the First XV from some of the other schools and this also flows down to the individual...

    ISA Rugby 2012

Well I suppose all will be revealed after today's trials in terms of an ISA team. The trial process in many sports is flawed when there are large volumes of players showing up. The problems arise when there is an over representation or under representation of selectors from one particular...
