Unfortunately we are not going to see what Skelton can do if he cant even make the squad. I would think that unleashing Will after 60 minutes against Argentina would be a good option. He has some technical deficiencies but he also has x factor.
If the Argies employ the rolling maul he has also shown a great ability (largely only in Super Rugby I will admit) to almost single handedly defuse this weapon.
With Carter, Horwill and Simmons we will get more of the same. When does the time come to take some risks.
We only just beat the Saffers. I hope we don't fall into the same malaise this weekend.

The teamwork in Eden Park was woeful.
The tactics for the first 3/4 of the game in Perth were bac k to the gameplan v's France II.
The team hasn't really been coached to a good Aussie performance.
The gameplan and the lack of cohesion have limited the ability of the individuals to reach their potential.
Therefore chopping and changing personell should be secondary to lifting the whole team output.

Further to my previous comment I highlight the plight of AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper).
He is given the OC role with White and Beale inside him for Bled II at Eden Park.
Because of injuries to McCabe and a poor showing by the wingers he is shifted from his position. Was this a promotion? not likely. Was it a demotion? Hmm, I say yes. Was it fair? Hard to say.
Nett result, he is out of this weeks team (injured) and Kuridrani is one of the first names pencilled in on the teamsheet.

Chasmac, yep consistency in selection is key. I think most of the 23 is good to go, with the only real issue being the second row. We've got a real problem there at the moment, there isn't enough go forward in attack. I'm not sure what we do about it, but what we've got isn't good enough.

AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper), rightfully or wrongly has always been considered our backlines Mr Fix-it.
Players will play where chosen, for the benefit of the team. If they don't want to then fuck off.

The issue has to do with the process. Do you give the incumbents a chance to reach their potential or do you chop and change the personell hoping for a player to make an immediate impact.
Injury (to MCCabe) has dealt AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) a dud hand whilst injury to Palu has possibly saved Carter or Simmons.
Until we see the team playing like a well oiled machine, it is difficult to find fault in the individuals games as their personal output / quality / impact might be symptomatic of the poor teamwork or poor gameplan.
However 4,5 and 6 need to play blinders this weekend because they are below where they need to be if we are going to win the next 3 tests.
I'm guessing he had teeth, or a Collingwood jumper, but not both?

Luck of the draw I'm afraid, especially in AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)'s case. The least disruptive change was for him to move to the wing. Unfortunately for him, not only did he get injured but Tevita played really well and has potentially nailed down that spot. It's not a bad problem to have.

Adam's versatility is also one of his great attributes. That he why is is approaching his 100 tests. Maybe if he had only played 13 then he may only have 50 tests.
Most backs are interchangeable (maybe not 9 and 10), same with 4,5,6,7,8
It seems that prop is a really specialist poition. With a few exceptions like Slipper, Holmes, Kepu and Alexander (who can play both sides if necessary), generally you are either a LHP or THP.
Think Robbo Sio Daley and Pek shun the idea of playing THP and Weekes and co the LHP position. Slipper certainly got his start because of ability to play both sides and Keps, Benny A and Holmes have played plenty of times on either side.

McCabe got injured we got Kuridrani. Genia got injured we now have Phipps. Pocock got injured we got Hooper. Injuries happen in collision sports.
I don't wish injuries on anyone and any player in an international jumper can play the game but we need to uncover some locks. Perhaps they are not out there and Carter, Simmons and Horwill will need to lift and fit the bill or perhaps a Jones, Skelton or someone else is just awaiting a chance.

One thing I want to see more of in this game is Folau running the ball back from kicks and retaining possession.
There were plenty of opportunities against South Africa where we could have comfortably got the ball to back around the 35-40m mark with plenty of players there to secure the breakdown but instead we kicked it away.
We need to adopt more of that Waratahs style game of not kicking those balls back and instead having confidence in our other players to get there to provide the necessary support. If we're looking to play field position we can set up for a kick from the next play or two.

Surely they don't just go out there and decide to kick. That's got to be on Link and it's his error not recognizing we don't have the quality of kickers to compete well with some international teams.
