$200 for 14 x 1 hour sessions is pretty good value (even better if you take $30-50 for the kit).

I pay $24 a 20 minute swim lesson and previously paid $78 a month for "Little kickers" which was 45 minutes of kicking a soccer ball.

For anyone shocked at these costs, I would suggest you speak to your local federal member as these are nothing to the daycare fee's young families are forking out.
I disagree, my son did Aussie Hoops, was $70-80 a term, plus $40 for basketball singlet and basketball. That's better value, also managed to get to be one of the mascots at the Boomers and got an additional Singlet and Tshirt as well as match tickets. His now playing U10s and it's $250 a season, that's training and games.

Swimming lessons is different, we pay $22 per lesson (30 min). But that includes free use of the pools any time.

$120 for a ~10wk term and gear ($12/wk) vs $200 for 14wks and gear ($14/wk) - near as makes little difference.

Yeah, it's something like $125 for newbies, and $88 for returning kids for a term that can run as low as 7 weeks depending on the location...

I have kids around that age in Sydney. No where near Moore Park.

Cost is not really a problem. People have that kind of money.

But they have the option for similar programs from cricket, basketball, soccer, Aussie Rules, league, nippers, little athletics, as well as swimming, dancing and gymnastics. The local AusTag and netball programs are the best run of the lot.

All cost something like that $220. Rugby doesn't get a look in. Wouldn't matter if it was free.

Literally the only conversations I have about rugby here are how people used to like it, and they had heard Sua'ali'i was going to rugby this year.

A tiny crack. An opportunity to be in the conversation. That's what the benefactor is paying for.

Perhaps the biggest need or one of the bigger needs is a coordinator outreach program.

Are we really trying to hold onto the 2011 and 2014 glory from 10 years ago? Where the 1 side in nsw could only 75% fill a stadium?
again this is the issue let’s sit back and pretend the game is where it was! Every year since it has sat and fallen further behind
We keep looking at the past and pretending the present is fine.
As the other codes get further attractive and further ahead our whole 5 sides who no one knows are playing and that the players even exist don’t even get 30k fans a week to the grounds and try nothing to get out or the situation until it hits rock bottom
What the fuck are you talking about.... Old mate said that the Tahs winning did nothing in Sydney.. Which is totally untrue.

You can't tell me the Tahs being dead last ain't affecting crowds and if they were first it wouldn't get them more
Pathetic … I don’t know what’s more embarrassing, you being proud of 60k crowd like 10 years ago… or all the people who liked your comments … you guys really do live in a bubble … good luck getting 26K this year smh …

You are pathetic bro, you think winning doesn't get supporters, as above if the Tah's where first they would be getting lots more people.

So genius what's your solution?

It’s the biggest rivalry in Australian sport. Nothing in the NRL could come close

You don't think that rugby is more popular when Australia has winning teams?
Maybe in the past … I think there are far more issues in 2024 , than just winning games … aka the average person actually knowing the games are actually on

I have 3 teenage kids who have all made their respective age rep teams. Just registration for those rep teams has cost $1,500. Then there is local club rego, extra kit expenses (rego includes socks, shorts and training shirt), travel and accommodation expenses for rep tournaments. And they all play league as well.
So you are a traitor lol or maybe if you live outsides of rugby strongholds, league if your only footy code option

Excuse the language mate have seemed to strung a cord with you
Yes we are reminiscing from 10 years ago
And even then the super rugby final wasn’t even a sell out
Even if the tahs were going well add another 5k to the crowd isn’t a lot for the only super rugby side in the state compared to 10 league sides averaging nearly double the crowds and growing while super rugby is on the trend of falling below 10k fans
The only solution hear seems to be let’s do nothing and keep the silence of the game going that’s a great way to see if fall off the earth

When was the last time 120k went to an origin game?
What ground holds 120k? State of Origen packs which ever ground they are in and the tv audience tunes in! It’s over 3m tune in so basically gives rugby league another 3 grand finals compared to afl! With afl and nrl grand finals around the Same viewing number! Even die hard afl fans watch it

I think @Linerunner2023 has a point. Maybe he's a bit rude but maybe that's what rugby diehard supporters need to hear. And you can see here what he's talking about. What's the average age of the G&G users? Maybe that answer many questions...
