At last, we've actually beaten NSW at something.

Good start for Joey Burns..long may it continue and turn into 4 day form as well!

Schedule for the men this summer:

    Men's Gillette T20s v Sri Lanka
    October 27: Adelaide Oval, 2pm
    October 30: Gabba, 6.10pm
    November 1: MCG, 7.10pm

    Men's Gillette T20s v Pakistan
    November 3: SCG, 2.30pm
    November 5: Manuka Oval, 7.10pm
    November 8: Perth Stadium, 4.30pm

Men's Domain Test Series v Pakistan
    November 21-25: Gabba, 10am
    November 29-December 3: Adelaide Oval, 2pm (D/N)

Men's Domain Test Series v New Zealand
    December 12-16: Perth Stadium, 1pm (D/N)
    December 26-30: MCG, 10.30am
    January 3-7: SCG, 10.30am

Men's Gillette ODIs v New Zealand
    March 13: SCG, 2.30pm (D/N)
    March 15: SCG, 10.30am
    March 20: Blundstone Arena, 2.30pm (D/N)

Only five tests this summer when we normally have six in non-Ashes years. Note they've also shortened the BBL this year given complaints that last year's was too long.

^ A bit of a rubbish summer to be honest, though the Kiwi series should be ok.

One dayers during Super rugby :(

The D/N test in Perth should be good, everything else is a bit meh, especially if the MCG and SCG are the dusty flat tracks they have been the past few years.

Another polished performance from Joe. He obviously loves the hallowed turf that the King used to play on.

Good to see Joe Burns get some runs. God knows we desperately need someone to stick their hand up to score runs at the top of the order. Now for Renshaw, Richardson and few others to hit some form.

FWIW I would've had Burns in my Ashes squad from the start.

How about the clean sweep against Sri Lanka in the T20s?? There were some fantastic individual performances in there; standouts being Beth Mooney, Chamari Athapaththu and Alyssa Healy.

It's hard not to feel for the Sri Lankans though; as the game still seems very much amateur over there, and they come out to Australia to take on a polished professional outfit. Hopefully they're better prepared for the World Cup in Feb.

I saw a bit of the end of the one at NSO, looked very much like pros against amateurs.

    CARNAGE @ the Gabba.

Pissed that Joe didn't score many.

A it of cricketing/rugby trivia: the match referee at the Gabba is one Peter Leslie Marshall. Yes, the international rugby referee, he's also a cricket official.

Warner with a century against Queensland. There was never any doubt he was going to get selected for the first test of the Summer, but now there at least will be less cries that he shouldn't have been selected.

Marcus Harris with a century does his chances no harm.

Nic Maddinson with a double century could put him back in the frame as well. His form has been dominant since moving to Victoria.

Pucovski got a hundred too. You'd think that he'll be in the selection frame at some point.

Runs at the Gabba will count for a lot more than at that highway Victoria have at the MCG.

First loss hurts bad esp vs the evil Blues  Davey Warner's ton the big difference.

Good to see Joe and Marnus in the runs in the second dig. We needed a few more.

That was at the Junction Oval (although the MCG has also been a road in recent years).

It's an absolute indictment on the groundskeepers that their pitch produced almost 1300 runs in 4 days for the loss of only 12 wickets.

Haha, I realised it was at some local park after posting and knew you would be onto it.

James Pattinson was bowling offies and Victoria just kept the field up because they couldn't be bothered defending. Apparently, the Vics proposed to turn into a one day match via tactical declarations but Tom Cooper wasn't having a bar of it.
