Looks expensive. And fast.I'm picking up my new bike this afternoon. I'm pretty bloody excited. It's a Specialized elite carbon.

Jets, you went up Cootha on a Mountain Bike? Very brave!!!
IS, I've been a Continental GP 4000 man for a while now. I've had very few punctures with them and they apparently have less rolling resistance than other tyres.
They have some good reviews.
i gather you dont use the tape/protection between the tyre and tube?
What is this tape protection of which you speak?
The rubber on my rear wheel pretty much de laminated the other day when it was hot,so I'm also looking at replacement options now.
i'm on the Maxxis Refuse's. i asked for the toughest tyres they sold at the bike shop. they are heavier but are bullet proof.
Got them.
Got specialized armadillo's as well.
and I rode on some gatorskin hardshell's I had this morning which seemed ok on the usual sunday morning glass trail through sydney
Did you get the 25mm version. The wider ones have less resistance and you dont need to put as much pressure so you get a softer ride thrown in the bargain.
I replaced my Conty 4000's with Mavic Yksion Pro. The Conty tyres a very good for puncture resistance which is just as well because they are a bugger to get on and off as the bead is very tight.
The Conti's are pretty stiff to begin with, but become more pliable over time. Once they're broken in I can use my bare hands to get them on and off a lot of the time.
Just read that my Specialized trigger tyres are 2bliss ready. Is it worth mucking around going tubeless?
