Great work as usual Sidesteppa.

Prindiville and McGregor were noticeably absent, anyone know what's happened to either?
Sideline chatter yesterday on Prindiville was that he had picked up an injury earlier in the week. His listed replacement, Strath Yeo (11), played the whole match and I thought had a good game. (Yeo played at the beginning of the season, but got hurt in one of the early games, maybe in Round 2 against Joeys, I can't now recall. He's been playing 2's since returning from the infirmary, awaiting his chance to get back in the top flight.)

Jack McGregor played the whole match yesterday. At last I'm pretty sure he did, absent any early onset middle-aged Alzheimer's that might've affected my concentration late in yesterday's game. And if I did miss McGregor going off, I can't even rely on a Jack's Bar excuse as a rogue distractor, ala Azurri, RM2, etc. over at Joeys.

You might be understating it a little, especially given the strength of the GPS comparatively. I'd back the Joeys 3rds to beat every single CAS school (except maybe possibly Knox), given that they were able to beat Grammar, who won against Trinity earlier in the year, and lost closely to Cranbrook with an understrengthened side. As for the ISA, they'd be capable of beating Kinross, Gregs and Pius, very possibly Pats and even perhaps Stannies.
Knox beat Joeys 1's pretty convincingly so does that mean Joeys 3rds would beat Joeys 1sts.

Don't know which game you were watching mate, but McGregor was clearly absent, and I believe that if he did play, View would have pulled off the upset. A tale of two half indeed it was, Riverview well on top early and Scots look dumbfounded, yet, as they always do, they showed their true class with a great come from behind win.
Standouts for View were No.11 O'Reilly before he came off with a facial injury, easily up there with the most improved playiers in competition. For scots, McCaulley had a blinder, as well as No.15 Shannon.

McGregor pulled out late in the week. Was still in the program though. Riverview contact says he has a groin issue that will keep him sidelined for a couple of weeks but will be fit and ready to go for Aussie schools campaign.

In relation to the report that was just released of View vs Scots - number 10 was Tom Lenehan not Jack McGregor. And the 3 points given to Alex Hamilton might've been meant for Chris Scott who scored 2 tries off the two set pieces not Alex, who despite playing well, did not score any try off set pieces

My bad then BW. I went solely from the program listing of McGregor playing at 10. (Oddly enough, early on, I did ask a mate who I thought actually may have had better eyesight than mine, and who'd reff'd JMcG for years, if "that was McGregor?" Receiving an affirmative, I'd thought nothing more of it 'till now.) So, apologies to JMcG and whoever was the replacement.

Thanks GG. As flagged, I went from the View program as issued and whatever I thought I heard as the announcement of the relevant try scorers, being unsighted as I was at the Northern end on those 'push over' tries down at the far City end. If the second rolling maul scored was also by Chris Scott, and I'm not doubting it, apologies. Great work again by Scott to follow up his earlier success. View were indeed on a roll at that point, no pun intended!

The AAGPS website has that second rolling maul try that we're talking about, as being scored as I'd taken it down, by Alex Hamilton (2). I also checked with my blind Ref mate, and his notes were taken per the ground announcer, giving that one to Hamilton too. Hopefully my mate's ENT specialist is better than his Optometrist! ;)

If you watch the video from SideSteppa you can see in fact, Chris Scott scores both tries but clearly I'm seeing different to you..

Just did watch that 'Steppa vid, GG, and I agree with you. Scott was clearly the scorer of both of those tries.

While this may indicate that they can score a try or two, it also shows how poor their defence can be. Perhaps their defence coaching (and pattern) needs an upgrade, if they do any! I saw Peitch from Kings cover defending at No.8 but I have not seen much cover defence from Riverview. If you break their first line you are in.

Thanks scoop . Agreed with all particularly the structure of the defence but not re 8 in cover . Not sure that was ever part of union and even league now are more likely to have the half in cover .

Whoever is running the tipping comp could we please keep the system the same for 1st XV tips, and maybe put in another table how positions change on the ladder for these last rounds which include the power tipping. IMHO I am not a fan of the power tipping.
