(For some reason my computer isn't picking up the quote from the post I'm replying to..)

A technical issue with the browser you are using and the interface to the forum software.

Plenty of others have complained similarly.

Chrome or Firefox seems to be the recommended solution.

Either that or get a Mac and use safari.

Ivic was going very well over the first two days. he would have been a big loss to Hunter for the final. I'm not 100% sure but I think he has a sprained ankle so hopefully will be fit if selected.

I'm told by a usually reliable source that P.Ivic was selected for the Combined States team last year, but didn't actually play for CS in the tournament at St Ignatius College. Injury perhaps, or some other reason. Can anyone confirm if that's correct?

Annotated following selections (65% correct - not too bad for a casual observer, even if I do say so myself :) )

Congratulations to all the boys who played over the 3 days in Newcastle, and congratulations to those selected for the State squad. Looking forward to another couple of months of great rugby coming up . . . .

Teams are here on the CHS web site:
http://www.sports.det.nsw.edu.au/state/results/year_2014/nswchs/state/rugby.htm

Anyone know where the Sunday 1 June games are going to be played, and at what time?
Last year these games were at Forshaw Park.

CHS II are down to play AICES, in the Open grade. There is no AICES team in the Under 18's this year.

Will there be a 3 way round robin between CHSI, CHSII and CCC teams instead?

Is anyone going along to the trials that can do a quick match report, or a picture or two - @Monty Python or @Sideline Eye?

Any correspondents going along to the Under 16's?

I believe these are at Forshaw park. Times as per Cattledog's post above (Thanks Dogman).

Is anyone going along to the trials that can do a quick match report, or a picture or two - @Monty Python or @Sideline Eye?

Will try and see what I can do, assuming I get down there in time (have something on at the other end of Sydney in the middle of the day).

Didn't make it down, but will ask a couple of snouts who did.

Scores yesterday for the 18s at Forshaw Park:

GAME 7 - 1.30pm - CCC def CHS 2 : 17-5
GAME 8 - 2.10pm - CHS 1 def CHS 2 : 12-5
GAME 9 - 2.50 pm - CHS 1 def CCC : 17-7

Will try and get some commentary on the games as well.

Hard to know what to make of those scores.
Taking it to a full game by doubling the 1/2 time score (that is always a dangerous assumption) for comparative purposes only.
CCC (fresh) beat CHS 2 (fresh) by 34 - 10
CHS 1 (fresh) beat CHS 2 (tired) 24 - 10
CHS 1 (tired) beat CCC (rested) 34 - 14

So CHS 2 should have been flogged by CHS 1, but they obviously lifted when up against the 1's, as so often happens when the 2's take on the 1's.

CCC will probably be a good match up for ISA 2's.

CHS 1's seem to have improved in confidence and structures as the games went on, and they should provide a good game for CAS 1's on Thurdsay. Having to assemble kids from all over, the CHS machine usually takes a game or two to get going as the players get used to each others strengths and weaknesses, and the Coaches tactics, strategy and game plan.

CHS piggies usually give the CAS boys a good physical encounter in the first half, and this intimidation can set a platform that takes the pressure off the CHS backs, and gives them some good front foot ball.
