Sure they are different. Maybe thats why we only use him in the one dayers. Your doistra bowler will always being critise for chucking. Anyway I is quite surprise by our spinners on the rise. Have to thank yur legend Warne for this. Sw in our local T20 compo even some leg breakers coming through. This is refreshing and myself trying to teach my own kiddie to bowl off breaks. Talked to his coach the other and are quite happy they want to give the young one some specialise coaching in spin bowling. Myself only working with him in the way he have to hold the ball in hand and to bowl line & length and vary his pace. He sure respond very well in this.

Back to tpic tho, our secret will be to hold on wickets, we need now under a 100 and Amla and AB sure look comfortable at the moment and batting senseable.

Easy win by the Saffers. Well done to 'em! Maybe now we'll start seeing some real action at the selection table and perhaps Ponting could be shuffled on, especially after how easily he was dismissed when looking dangerous.

Mitchell Johnson is still living on the one brilliant spell he bowled in Perth a month ago. Why all the commentators insist on creaming their jocks over him is anyone's guess - very ordinary when it comes to line and length and I maintain that you can't play him AND Tait or Lee in the same side. Jeez our bowling looks poor.

Take Ponting out and we probably score 150. He isn't going anywhere.

We are badly missing Clark and Symonds to 1. score off the spinners (the former) and 2. hit some fast runs towards the end (the later).

I actually lay the majority of the blame for our losses at Hussey's feet. Getting out at the start of powerplays, getting out when they had a good partnership going (albeit a bit unlucky), and very average form overall in both forms of the game. Test and one day average against SA in this series must be less than 20.

Yeah, a crushing SA win and well played.
Our bowling looks PAINFULLY anorexic.
Ditch Ponting? Hardly. If we could get a better captain, sure change that, but Ponting deserves to be there for his batting alone - EASILY.
I am less down on Hussey simply because he has been so consistent for 4 years, but he is struggling a bit. I would persist because he is class. Piss off some of these other hoaxes.
Hate to harp, but Cameron White??? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

Hate to critizise the opposition but Johnson sure dont look like the same player he was in the tests.

Myself think we currently do have the best bowling attack. Our bowlers have been fantastic in both series. Now the batters have join in and it all looks way to easy in the last two.

Graeme Smith will be out of his skin and cant wait for the SA leg.

I think both Husseys are struggling which is a real shame.

White is a waste of a selection. Last night was his real chance to play a role like Symmonds did at the 2003(??) CWC. Play it safe and then hit out. Its a shame Lee Carseldine is 33. not 23. Damn his back injury.

But there aren't any of the young breed who have taken it on this year (Pomersbach etc).

We have too many openers (Marsh, Warner, Hopes, Haddin, Hughes, Dighton, Blizzard, Klinger, Jacques).

Paarl, you are right about our bowling. I think only Bracken would be able to get into the South African team on current form. Tait would if he could actually bowl 10 good overs, but he generally bowls 2 amazing overs and 8 very average ones. I don't know why he didn't try and bounce De Villiers more!

However, in Adelaide Australia were without the following regular players - Bracken, S. Clark, Lee, Symmonds, M. Clark. Granted that South Africa are without Smith, but no team would be able to loose that many experience players and still expect to keep winning regularly.

Clark bowled well for Sydney Uni on Saturday, took 4 for 29 off 14 overs and his elbow stood up. He'll play for the Blues this week, as will Jaques. Let's hope he gets among the Tasmanian wickets in Newcastle this weekend.

Symonds? He's had a gifted run these last few months and hasn't shone with either bat or ball. For me it's time to deliver, or else. Maybe tearing up his ACB contract might motivate him. He surely can't be considered for the Saffer leg without a solid score behind him.

perhaps we should be picking Greg Matthews? Still playing first grade, and getting quality wickets I believe, at 50 odd? Have always been a fan of him since his debut test 100 at the Gabba v the kiwis back in 1985.

Anyway, I have been negligent in not mentioning the saffas. Gee they look good. Without wanting to sound arrogant they look like we used to look. So composed and dominant.

Cheers Nods, sure the biggest compliment our lot can recieve. :thumb Myself pretty impressed with the spirit in which this series was played between the two teams. Sure cricket was in desperate need for this.

My thoughts exactly, Noddy. I said to my wife (a fellow cricket tragic) a few weeks ago "these blokes play like us". Or like we used to play. Well done, Saffers, deserved victories in both series. This team has been put together by the Saffer selectors and Smith over a couple of years with a lot of thought and determination, something we have to emulate here in Oz in the immediate future. Starting with the trip to SAf in the next few weeks. Anyone not in form shouldn't be considered. And anyone injured needn't apply.

It might also be worth adopting the Swans recruitment policy (if the selectors think we have enough players still eligible!).

You are right. What I should have said is we are missing an in form Symonds. Just like we are missing an in form Hussey.

That particular quote you took was referring to M. Clarke - S. Clark is less of a force at ODI level, but we are still missing him, probably mainly to do with experience.

SA Team for the last one tomorrow on the Waca
Herschelle Gibbs, Hashim Amla, AB de Villiers, JP Duminy, Neil McKenzie, Vaughn van Jaarsveld, Albie Morkel, Morn? Morkel, Johan Botha (k), Wayne Parnell, Lonwabo Tsotsobe

This one will show if we have life without the likes of Graeme Smith, Jac Kallis, Boucher, Ntini & Steyn. Tsotsobe & Parnell both left quickies once again show that Athur is still looking for a good left quickie for variousion in our attack. Tsotsobe have a dangerous weapon by swinging the ball away from the left hander or into the right hander and myself will love to see van Jaarsveld to cut lose. He is a big talent , no doubt and just need time to settle on top level.

Aus team has been annouced - Clarke and Bracken are back. Tait and White are out of the squad. So I think that makes our twelve:

Warner, Marsh, Ponting, Hussey * 2, Clarke, No Hopes, Haddin, Bracken, Hilfenhaus, Johnson,

There will still be plenty of interest in this game. I predict Aus will win and there will be premature proclomations that we are back on track.

David Codey (61)
Mark, I think you missed Hauritz in your 12, but I expect that he will be carrying the drinks anyway.

I think they need to play with the batting order, dropping M Hussey down a bit.

Warner - hitter
Marsh - stroke maker
Ponting - hitter & stroke
Clarke - stroke
D Hussey - hitter
M Hussey - stroke
Haddin - hitter
Hopes - hitter
Johnson
Bracken
Hilfenhaus

SA batting first and ending on 288 with Duminy , Amla & AB having a ball. Perfect platform for our newbies to show their mettle and if they have cool heads to put the pressure on the Aussie. The pitch have a very much Saffer like look. Would like to know from you lot who you think should be man of the series?

Rod McCall (65)
OK Nods think Botha deserve this one. Vokket but our lot over the Aussies at the moment. Aus 59/4 and only a mericle will safe them. Tjotsie getting 2 and the run out and Morkel 1. Look like our newbies will try and roll this pitch up and brings it to SA
