except with a new coach next year the status quo may not remain, particularly (as many of us predict) we crash out at the RWC.
Say what you will about Hooper but after the world cup Poey will probably not be around anymore, and Hooper will be 7 for the wallabies and one of the first picked. I don't really see anyone taking the Captaincy off him, no matter who the coach is.

Hooper needs to improve his stats as captain, winning record as captain is under 40% so yes it can and should be taken off him. Before the world cup is a good suggestion cause you need a captain who can deal with refs and he is not the man for the job.

Cause Larkarm has? Isn't he next in line and has achieved nothing

I never mentioned Larkham, but he’s at least coached a Super Rugby team into the finals four years running......... which currently makes him far more qualified.

Wessels does not yet have the experience or any proven success to put him in line for a test gig.

I don't think Cheika will continue regardless. Wessels might be the new Wallabies coach!

Well if he doesn't perform in Super Rugby this year with the panel of players he has then he won't be a snowflakes chance in hell. He has a great roster and now it will be up to him to perform. I am looking forward to how he handles the strong characters within the group

Any word on the makeup of the team for tomorrow's trial match? The Brumbies side has been named and is on the Brumbies 2019 thread. Essentially a reserves team with quite a few new players to the club also getting a run.

Nada. Hopefully there will be an announcement sometime this afternoon.

Agreed, surely we should be bedding in some combinations with all the new players. What do I know, I TRUST IN DAVE!!

it is hard when you have to rest your Wallabies. Doesn't leave many left to actually play.

Anyway, I am sure they will mix things up but a potential team is still decent:

15 Justin Masters
14 Semisi Tupou
13 Tasi Tautalatasi
12 Billy Meakes
11 Sione Tui
10 Quade Cooper
9 Michael Ruru
8 Angus Cottrell
7 Richard Hardwick
6 Luke Jones
5 Esei Haangana
4 Matt Philip
3 Sam Talakai
2 Hugh Roach
1 Mees Erasmus
