Defiantly a good signing for us. You'd expect him to line up on the right wing, with Chris F'Sautia on the other and Toua/Lucas/Taulagi at fullback for the start of the season.

Trouble is boys, I think he will be a definite starter and therefore probably not play a game for his club side - in lots of ways it is a shame that clubs with home grown products are unable to play them so that the grassroot supporters / kids get to see them (in a very comfortable environment)

With this signing of LT to the Reds and the loss of three really good players in this key position wing/fullback. It got me thinking of JOC (James O'Connor). he really must have put the stink up a number people and clubs and it has filtered through the super rugby franchise not wanting such a good player.

I'm coming around to the idea of JOC (James O'Connor) at the Reds. I think Turner provides some experience in the backline and would take some pressure off JOC (James O'Connor).

I would think with JOC (James O'Connor) and the reds it would be as much james not wanting to go to the reds as the reds not wanting him after the way he and RG parted ways at the Force.

As a Force supported im happy that you signed LT as you had offered Cummins a contract so that say to me he is staying in Perth.

I quite like the signing. He seems like a good guy to show some leadership to the young guys in the squad. Also he can play 13, 15 and wing at Super level so will give the squad some depth across a few positions.

Agreed, I see him as a replacement for Morohan more-so than a replacement for Ioane. He's a very good signing & still has a good few years left in him at only 26. He's also supposed to be a good club man which is always a plus.

I agree with most, LT is a good signing. He may or may not be a starter, hard to say at this stage. He has in the past played some bloody good games for the Tahs and the Wallabies in the past. The Reds are definitely still short one dynamite back 3 player though in terms of overall squad depth. I hear there is one available who has recently undergone an sizeable ego check, and is going at roughly 60% of his previous worth

I really think Timana Tahu is the only absolute dud league convert rugby has had in the last 15 years.

Everyone else has been somewhere between reasonable and excellent. The reasonable ones have tended to have only been reasonable players in league as well.

Good evening kind sir. Can I take you Tamana Tahu and raise you a Nathan Blacklock? :)

Blacklock was poor but I don't remember his signing being particularly high profile for the Waratahs and it was incredibly short lived.

I certainly agree that he was a failure in rugby relative to how highly rated he was in league at the time though.

He's also supposed to be a good club man which is always a plus.

Sad to see him leave the Tahs, but hopefully his bad run of injuries has come to an end and he has a good couple of seasons with the Reds.

From his time with the Tahs, I would say he was one of the most approachable of the players. Always happy to sign autographs and chat to the punters.

He also did his bit for junior rugby in NSW before it really gained traction under Cheiks this year. IIRR, one year he promised a junior rugby team that if they made the grand final, he would be a runner for them. They made the GF and he was good to his word.

Did a similar thing for my team although it never made it in the papers. Came and watched two of our games in the middle of whoop whoop no where near where he lived, gave halftime talks etc etc. Awesome guy and definatly goes the extra mile when it comes to grassroots/junior footy

Whilst JOC (James O'Connor) would be an attribute on the field for the Reds the trouble is that senior players don't want the bloke at Ballymore - think his history has made the bloke unpopular off the paddock that no-one would socialise with him.

So who are we looking at for the last spot in the 30?

By the looks of it we need either a backrower or outside back/centre.

Anyone got an insight on who we could be looking at?

the longer he is without a team, the more I DONT want him at the Reds, for such a talented player who is a current Wallaby not to be able to get signed he must really be bad off the field.
