Quades "magic" has two sides to it.

He certainly showed one with that fantastic try assist two minutes in.

Redeems himself a little with the penalty though.

Absolutely honking crowed for round one.

The prodigal son Quade has returned. Higgers? Smith? Anybody? No?

That's more like it!!

Great interplay between Quade and Karmichael.

Amazing what happens when you switch up the point of attack.

At the game, this Reds team appears to be playing at a frenetic pace.

The execution might not be there at the moment, but if they're fit enough to keep this up they'll do ok I think.

Quade trying just a bit too hard.

He's fucked up so many short balls. Slow down son. Let the opportunities come to you.

Team needs to settle badly. We're half a beat off on so many passes and movements it's becoming very frustrating to watch.

Individual mistakes creeping in. We're letting the Sharks get away with not playing any rugby.

If the Reds score from here Korcyk should either score it or get a try assist, great hustle.

EDIT: Higgers gets it so TA for Korcyk.

Has George Smith got the invisibility cloak? Unbound that scrum 'a bit' early

Stephen Moore is too old to move laterally haha. Looked hopeless than and a shark just jogged around him.

Frisbys far too trigger happy with the box kick. Reds need to keep possession more.

Simon.

Some promising signs in that half. Once those late passes start sticking the Reds are breaking the line at will.

Will forgive them the handling errors this early in the season and with this humidity but some really stupid decisions that are inexcusable.

Not threatening for the title just yet but showing signs of a team that will need to be treated with respect. Which in itself is a nice change from last season.

Watching the backline attack from the Chiefs then these two teams is chalk and cheese. Reds are over-playing their hand too much - they've good good ball runners / line breakers and pace - it doesn't need to be so complicated. Plus the attack is really, really flat and too many unsympathetic passes. It is only the first game though. Sharks defence has some sting. Oh, and Frisby.........something, something.........box kick.........no.
