It will be another case of the LNP killing an industry...this time the technology industry....currently it is reported that 10,000 Australians work in Silicon valley - they are the IT entrepreneurs we need to make Australia relevant in the 21st century but I fear this government will be sending more to the US as well as those involved in leading edge renewals research...Australia the dumb country thanks Tony, Malcolm, Joe and co...

More.

Yep they lied aided and abetted by the Murdoch press. They lied about implementing Gonski too and in fact are still not going to implement it. They lied about their own fraudband costs too by not including the costs of 2-3 exta power stations that Melb Uni said would be required to power their Fraudband. Now they are not even going to give us their promised Fraudband. They have renegged on everyone getting 25Mb/s. They just lied their way into power and are continuing to lie. Anyone want to bet that Morrison saying that no asylum seekers arriving in the last 6 weeks is a lie too? Every press release published in papers should be headed that the lying LNP Government has said.......

$43B for MTM

+ cost of acquiring Telstra copper (despite what MT says)
+ cost or repairing said copper
+ cost of acquiring the HFC
+ cost of running HFC lead into properties
+ cost of HFC upgrades
+
+

Then the cost of converting areas to FTTP

This makes the cost of straight to FTTP value-for-money.

You were warned.

The rain last week was great to remind me how bad the copper network is.

Internet drops to snails pace and takes a day or so of dry weather before it is back to normal.

What an age of technology we live in!

Within that story are links to gems of quality journalism such as:-

Ab-shoe-lutely fabulous! Model Jennifer Hawkins shows off her massive collection of shoes

Italian man, 70, hires escort and finds it was son’s girlfriend

Games of Thrones star Kit Harington says Sydney girls are gorgeous

It's called News Limited for a reason.

I am sure if you looked at your prefered choice the SMH the same stories types might get a mention. e.g. The Australian Tatoo and Body art etc, meet the prostitue who saved China, and of course
TheVine

'Charlie Bit My Finger 2' by the Hemsworth brothers

Just posted so you wouldn't have to continue posting to yourself. The story still shows waste on a grand scale.

My posting is for others to read.

WASTE? - what about the waste of a further audit? Didn't MT get the outcome that he wanted, so he'll keep on having audits in the vain hope that he gets one he likes.

A further witch-hunt, another excuse to do nothing - meanwhile opportunity is WASTED.

Is it a WASTE that desired takeup rates for Foxtel haven't materialised?
@Battalion: "increased subscriptions by foxtel just not materialising. in 1999 Foxtel predicted 75% subscribers by 2009. in 2012 predicted 50% by who knows when."
Naysayers love point out takeup rates for the NBN - in some areas the copper will be switched off soon, so takeup rates for the NBN in those areas will be high.

TPG rollout threatens NBN financial health: Ziggy Switkowski

Competition will do that.

Many times a variation of this was stated, but the naysayers chose this instead:-
