Just wondering if any of the folk up to date with the NBN 'stuff' can give me even a slightly educated opinion on what is happening near my town?
The last week as I drive to work along the highway I have been watching a couple of teams of guys installing a quite thick light blue cable into the existing telco pits that are dotted along the side of the highway. At the moment they are very near to the next town along the highway to mine (if it's not obvious, I live in a rural area). I have made an assumption that they are laying fibre and was hoping that contrary to the NBN website, I may be getting the NBN still? Would there be another reason they would be laying fibre cable? My town is about another 5km down the road form the town they are approaching at the moment.
Also, if it's not obvious, I know very little about this stuff. I think before the current govt got in we were on the NBN rollout map as 'future planned' or something like that. Sorry if this makes no sense.
