Winter has come to Hamilton at last, it's only in the last hour or so that the fog has lifted enough that we can see the bright yellow supermarket across the street & the temp is barely into double figures where it'll stay until we lose the sun at it reckon no later than 5:30. Come 7:30 it'll be back to single figures & the turf likely still moist from the fog. Perfect conditions for Shorks to do what they did last week so I'm expecting trench warfare rather than cavalry charge footy.

almighty touch-up at Loftus for Die Bulls.
  • Cantabs kicking game a master class of accuracy and unpredictability.
  • Huge aryan nazi freak Snyman has nice soft hands.
  • Everyone hates Rasta the ref but I like him. Sure he misses some shit but whatevs, he's clear, has no ego unlike most of the other me-me dipshits and, being from 7's, he does not fuck around. Always a fast paced game

Clan heading to SA today minus Liam Squire who has "personal issues" requiring his attention; Jackson Hemopo who injured his knee; and possibly Tevita Li who damaged his hamstring & will be assessed before they fly out. They do get Waisake Naholo & Tei Walden back so it's not all bad news.

Assuming Squire doesn't make it to SA at all that leaves him one Clan game to prove he's up for Test footy, which just isn't enough IMO. Feel for the guy but it's "who's next-best option?" time.

Actually apart from the obvious misplacement of the Hurricanes, the table’s better reflects where everyone’s at this year.

Brumby Runner

David Wilson (68)
I expect the table to be sorted out quite a bit clearer after this weekend.

If the Highlanders and Crusaders both win away (likely), then the Lions and Stormers can probably be discounted for the finals. If the Hurricanes beat the Jaguares, again likely, there will be a chance for the winner of the Blues/Chiefs or the Waratahs/Reds games to make it into the top 8. By the end of the season, I think there will be only two SA Conference sides still in the running.

With the Brumbies having the bye, the Rebels and Brumbies will again exchange places.

On the basis of that rather small Tribe forward pack I'm tipping loss Bleus by <12. Sorry in advance for the ~55% probability I've got it wrong (pretty sure I'm 5/11 for matches involving loss Bleus which is seriously denting my average).

JBar you fumb duck, at least pretend you were trying to force it rather than smashing it into row AAA. And TJP, if you're gunna try to game the ref, ya need to look & sound like you actually believe the shit that's coming out your mouth.

I think Ennor is marked down to replace Crotty next year in the middle.

So its: Bridge, Havili, Reece, Jordan and Mataele that will have the 3 outside back spots, plus a bench spot and room for injury and resting. Imagine if Dagg was still in the equation.

Reece is brilliant (understatement), but I'm concerned about his tackling - slow to wrap the arms and goes higher than most. Can see some cards coming. Also hits more rucks than any winger i've ever seen - which i like.

Crusaders signed 6 players this week including Ennor and Goodhue
