Wallabies Positivity Thread . .

tragic

John Solomon (38)
Two years ago many were saying the wallabies didn't have a single player who would make a world 15. Now we have
1. A front row which is competitive with the best scrums in the world, and arguably better around the field. Not out of place in a world cup winning 15.
2. Two number 7's who are world class - poey was the only player who made the "world 15" a few years back and hooper was in the RC best 15 in a number of publications.
3. A number 13 who is coming on in leaps and bounds and will be up their with the best in 2015.
4. A number 15 who has taken midfield bombs out of the opposition playbook, is no 1 in line breaks and meters gained and is still getting better
5. A pair of wings in Speight and JOC (James O'Connor) who can be world class.
6. A pair of 10s in Cooper/ foley who might not be the best in the world, but the gap is narrowing and they are not that far off.
Thats 9 out of 15 positions that can win us Bob.
And theres still a year to sort out 4,5,6,8 and 12!

It is what it is

Good ideas but let's try and win "Bill", not 'Bob"

10 Things to be Positive about for RWC 2015
1. We have depth and competition for every jumper, 1-23.
2. We have The Pooper and The Pokemon and we have the courage to use them.
3. We have the last 5 years G&GR Player's of the Year in our game day 23.
4. We have notched up 2/4 Grand Slam Opponent victories.
5. We have a chance to knock off the other 2 Grand Slam Opponents as we dive deep into RWC 2015.
6. We have shown that we can scrum.
7. We have kicked goals and conversions reliably from anywhere <45m.
8. We have avoided The Darkness in the Knock Out stages until the Grand Final.
9. We have shown that 13 Men in Gold can hold out 15 from the IRB 3rd ranked team.
10. We have a Coach and Team Culture that won't allow Amigos to be Amigos.

WJ, I think the Wallabies would be hard pressed to find supporters more loyal than those on GAGR.

Positive: Timani was better than expected. Even put in a big hit and got one of his famed offloads away. Could they turn him into an 8 so we can play a real lock?

We finally seemed to have found a world class lock with Coleman

Genia back to his best form

Dhp showing after some question marks top class footballer

Kerevi showing can be our next world class 13

Depth of quality props with 2 new options presented

Recruiting koroibete

Timani showing he may be our answer at 8

Lots of new exciting options emerging out of nrc showing oz rugby may have more depth of talent than we thought

A positive (maybe) is Larkham giving up the Brumbies and focusing on being full time with Wallabies after the 2017 Super Rugby season. Got to be some positives in that.

LOL well it was a maybe. As in maybe if Larkham can concentrate full time he might get his mojo back?

But I stand corrected

John, this is the Wallabies positivity thread, not the Brumbies' one.

Time for a bit of cheer and happy reflection. I would rather remember these blokes for earlier years than Saturday night:

We got to witness two pretty lengthy careers of some absolute all time Wallabies greats in Will Genia & David Pocock. Both occasional Wallabies captains, nearly 200 caps between them. For years were the best in the world at their position. No one could hold a candle to vintage Genia and Pocock must surely be the best pilferer in history.

2011 Reds Super rugby season and Tri-Nations for Genia and 2015 RWC for Pocock will be my fondest memories. I hope they're happy with their efforts and contribution, good luck to whatever they do in the future.
