Must say I found it quite ominous that Greg Clarke said 'the forwards haven't really set the platform for the backline', only for Ben Alexander, the tighthead prop to receive the ball at outside centre only moments later.

Everyone will blame the fwds but the passive backline defence gave England the momentum and continuity. Lets hope we dont have to put up with the "if only we kicked our goals excuses again" Deans was a goal kicker and we have Braam so whats going on??? Well done England - is good for the game and opens up the RWC as its two in a row winning against Australia

England deserved winners. Didn't even have to show us their dominance at the scrum and they seemed to take advantage of us in general play. Not just Cooper, but it seemed as though there were alot of missed tackles/ tackles with metres given away leading to the opposition being on the front foot. Thought that Burgess made a positive impact on the game. But boy did Ashton have some toe shiiiiiiiiiizzle..

well done to England. We were completely blown off the park.

The intensity, spoken of in their match v the kiwis last week, was at a fair few levels above us.

Benny Robinson needs a rest, for the rest of the tour. He has no physical presence on the game at the moment.

McCalman is gallant but proving, like Richard Brown, that he doesn't have the physicality for test footy at the moment.

Thought it was Chis's best game, but that says something.

Stephen Moore was superb I thought. Aussie MOM.

Cooper dismal. Very disappointing.

AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) anonymous.

KB (Kurtley Beale) just keeps his rich vein of form flowing.

Burgo looks like he's dosed up on red cordial at half time, but was an important spark.

Doers anyone think that Deans is delegating the problem areas and deflecting blame. The additions of Braam and Phil Blake have made little difference but will make good scapegoats

There are about 3 Wallaby backs that need their kicking boots cut off at the knee! Generally shit all round. England were deserving winners.

England look fitter and keener than Australia?
Can we afford to carry Cooper if he is going to make one tackle every ten attempts? The Eels will be happy he didn't sign a contract - imagine trying to hide him in RL...
Gits has to move to the Bench and he can also cover HB on the Bench - Burgess needs a clear message to tighten up his game - Genia needs to look at his early games when he didn't take a skip pass Gregan (in his latter years) style.
Scrum got lucky today as there wasn't many scrums but we still managed to give away 2 or 3 penalties due to the Scrum.
Moore went well tonight without his go forward we would have been screwed
Thought Barnes went well when he came on - he certainly gave the attack something that looked like direction - cooper went missing tonight and he clearly does not relish contact - makes his carry on with McCaw all the more questionable and something I suspect he will regret when he next takes on the AB's.
Robbie will very unhappy at the way they lost their heads so early and also at the lack of respect the Wallabies demonstrated for possession - Cooper / Genia and Gits were all guilty of mindless kicking -
Beale was the best of the backs tonight but that is not saying to much. A goal kicker like Toby Flood would also help...
I hope that JON got some clawbacks on Quades $600k for next year......

Along with France 2009 this game was the best I have seen England play since 2003.

After that I can see McCalman, Robinson and Giteau dropped.

I thought Beale had a great game and was probably your only decent player the whole match.

I'm glad we have finally won decently/(not cheaply) by that I mean won not because Gits missed a pen from infront of the posts

Yep. Well played England. Won every aspect.
Wallabies? Pack of fucken marshmallows who deserve to be put in the stocks for some rotten fruit action. Woeful is the word. Heartless is another. What do these c***s need to fire the hell up and show some passion? Geez, I just can't fathom why they do this time and again.
Does anyone have an answer?

Australia were well and truly beaten by a better team this evening, and we need to be honest about that. We can't blame it on the referee.

Joubert was very interesting tonight. I think there is a big problem ahead of the RWC, and that problem is Paddy O'Brien. He has failed to educate four sets of focus groups and that is, educating the players on what is the actual interpretations.

The referees, the referees have clearly not been educated. Joubert whistled fine, he was mostly consistent. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9PRo4-oUL4 check out that video, and you'll see what Kaplan has to say, it differs the approach of every referee which Aus and any other i, they all have their own set. I blame none of these referees, I blame O'Brien.

The players, I spoke briefly about it just previously, and that is they have a new set of laws, for a new ref. Simple as that. It needs to be changed. None of this, adapt to the ref bullshit. There is a certain amount of adapting which is to be done, but there is too much, now is too much. A referee is not another competitor, it is an arbitrator. Right now referees, are being treated as the third team, they are there to facilitate. Players need to be on the same terms, ahead of the WC. Players need to be on even terms, the same terms as the public.

The next is public, Rugby is a complicated game, it loses people because of its over complication, and its inconsistencies.

The next is the media, Greg Growden, Brian Moore, Spiro Zavos, Glen Ella, every commentator, has absolutely no idea what the fuck is going on. Consistency.

Now back to the game. Was there a complete scrum all day? I am critical of Joubert's handling of this area, his goal was quite clear, to fault someone for every collapse. Fair enough. However you cannot engage in guess work in this facet of the game, you simply cannot do so if you are not 100 percent sure. English heads were popping up all the time in the scrum. Australia had the better scrum today, one of the few things I can say.

How good is Ben Young's and Mark Cueto, for that fact the whole English team, fantastic stuff indeed. Great attacking play, and here I was sitting back on my cloud of judgement writing them off for next years RWC.

Beale: How good is this ripper. I think Cooper needs to face the axe and make room for Beale at Flyhalf, who knows how it will go. But this could be a Stephen Larkham transformation (even though he's played Flyhalf). Cooper is light on tackles, heaving on touching. Give me a bit of Beale at 10 and we will see where it goes.

Giteau had his ups and downs. His highlight was the binning, where he saved a try, his lowlight was probably his return. Beale at 10, Fainga'a at 12 is worth a shot.

James Slipper. How good is this guy. He is showing maturity that a senior rugby player would struggle to show, he missed a tackle, I can forgive that, but he showed maturity in holding the ball which shows he's up to test rugby oh right.

I seize here, and I comment on past comments of members, call me Reds Happy, call me conservative, but I still think room needs to be made for Hynes. He is a safe option and his defense is some of the best in the Wallabies team and the world for that matter. Beale at 10, Hynes at 15 would certainly be worth a midweek trial.

Until next week, where we take on Italy?

Congratulations England you beat us all across the park.

The worst part was confirmation that we are weak in the collisions. They came in with more power and once they were there they had more strength both individually and severally. It was the same for us against Wales.

This is an old problem of ours, but from time to time since the last RWC we have had some good physical games. We have lost that thread and the game tonight was just like the RWC Quarter Final when it was men against boys physically. They tackled better too.

I think Bruce is right - our fellows are not strong enough.

Good to see from a rugby point of view the Poms spreading the ball around though the bad part was they did it better than we did. I wouldn't mind $10 for every time I've seen Ashton score those tries for Northhampton and I just had to wag my head in appreciation of it.

This Pom team is a well balanced team now that they have retired dinosaurs like Bothwick. I couldn't imagine his making some of the tackles that Lawes did. I have to take my hat off to Jonno and his coaching team too - it looked like a well coached outfit. If they get a more skillful midfield and keep playing like this the Poms will do very well in the RWC next year.

The Wallabies should beat Italy even playing like they did tonight but the French will smack a soft contact effort like that.

Chief, Joubert was as mystifying as anyone else, but that was totally irrelevant. He could have blown 10 more penalties for us, and it would have made no difference.
Many times I was asking - " WTF was that about?". That, unfortunately, is rugby, a mystery to all but the man with the whistle.

Of course there's an answer - this team is poorly coached, has inadequate specialist coaches, and makes reckless, indulgent selections leading to unbalanced squads and lucky, not solidly rooted, wins. The whole Wallabies infrastructure requires radical change to do justice to the wonderful talent we have in Australian rugby.

That is not an answer, that is an abstract concept. Who would be this coach? These guys are weak, and unless the coach implants fucken titanium rods in them, they will remain weak.
And this does not mean I agree with Deans. I agree he is culpable, but these guys have nothing in the chest - they are pea-hearted.

Wow...England were shit hot today and just too good.

Actually thought we were better than last week (scrum aside) and some of our defence on the line was fantastic.

Quade is just easy yards everytime..he must watch the video each week and blush..can't be a good feeling knowing the rest of the team has to lift to cover your ineptness in defence.

Moore, pocock, Elsom, sharpe and Beale were our best.

Gits hasn't found a gap all year and needs to be 'rested' now.

Gawd, what is it with Reds fans and coach paranoia?
