Lions in South Africa 2021

No way this is happening with less than a year to go.

Maybe this will be the first time the Lions play in the UK, provided they get the virus under control?

No way in 10 months form now that 60K fans can flood into SA. A Lions tour with no fans would be pretty awful.

Maybe SARU should have thought of that before ripping off the rest of the SANZAAR shareholders.

Maybe they could replace it with a Polynesian/ANZAC tour - help us recover some of the funds lost from the RC.

I agree Blue, can't see it happening, and with no Lion's supporters there would be almost no point, it has the potential I would think to almost bankrupt SARU, especially with cut to takings this year. Most unions rely heavily on Lions tours in their budgets.

Lions are set to play a warm up game against Japan in Scotland:

It's outside the test window and booked in for the same day as the premiership final, so at this stage they won't have any of the English based players. They're still trying to negotiate with the premiership to make players from the clubs not involved in the final available.

I feel more for tourism companies that have been smashed. Millions have been plunged into poverty in SA due to Covid, and they don't have the government handouts like we have here.

SARU needs the Lions money.

No idea how this will pan out.

Postpone it a year?

Like RWC2019, Japan will probably pull their entire 68-man squad out of all comps for an entire year in favour of daily quarantined training camps solely focused on this match.

Fresh as a daisy, blood on the brains, and ready to go full kamikaze off the cliffs of Okinawa, Japan will win this.
